matymil Posted February 26, 2023 #1 Share Posted February 26, 2023 I thought i read somewhere that Carnival was going to added some more non smoking casinos on some of their other ships. I was on the Magic twice last year and LOVED the non smoking casino. Does anyone know if the Horizon added one, or any other ship for that matter? cantswim78 Posted February 26, 2023 #2 Share Posted February 26, 2023 There is a Non-smoking area in the casino, but it’s pretty close to the smoking section.

Yeah i think all casinos have that. During the shut down they converted a conference room on deck 4 of the Magic into an entire non smoking casino. Its small but awesome. pe4all Posted February 26, 2023 #5 Share Posted February 26, 2023 Casino on Horizon definitely was pretty smokey in the non-smoking section. Loved the non-smoking separate casino on Magic!
mz-s Posted February 26, 2023 #6 Share Posted February 26, 2023 I don't know if the Vista class has a conference room they could convert or not. Another option may be to take over the IMAX and/or Thrill Theater areas, but that would probably require a drydock to cut a hole in the side of the ship to remove all that equipment etc. And I don't know if Carnival would want to remove those areas from the ships, not sure how popular they are.

The theaters arent that popular anymore? I remember that being a big deal when the vista first launched. I'll never forget watching Ready Player One in there 🙂

This may be apples to oranges, but on our 2019 disney cruise, the theater was empty for all movies except Toy Story 4, which was newly released during our cruise. Being able to see it for "free" was a nice perk. Aren't the carnival theaters an extra charge? I can't imagine paying for a movie while on a cruise. Dive in movies is sufficient. Personally I think they should use the space for something else. However, I doubt gamble, so I wouldn't choose more casino space - UNLESS they were able to use the space to configure the smoking area of the casino so you could walk past/ through it without breathing in smoke. It would be nice being able to get from the atrium to the aft restaurant without going up and down stairs. Or outside I guess.

Yeah now that you mention it, when we were in the Imax it was brand brand new. We were on the first Vista sailing out of the USA actually and we has less than 10 ppl in there. You did have to pay, i dont remember how much
Pellaz Posted March 4, 2023 #11 Share Posted March 4, 2023 The Vista and the Horizon have the IMAX Theater, but Carnival reconsidered and did NOT include it on the Panorama...I suspect because paying nearly the full land-side price for a movie, even an IMAX experience, just didn't "take off." It looks like on the Panarama they replaced the IMAX with the Sky Zone trampoline park. I wonder how much revenue that generates as an add on. And, I assume the maintenance and operational costs of a trampoline park are a lot more than a movie theater, so I'd also be curious to see if the ROI for Sky Zone is an improvement over the IMAX. Personally, I don't get why they would have such extra cost activities that just can't be any better as similar things at home. IMAX is IMAX, and we have at least 3 trampoline parks within 15 minutes from our house, that have to be bigger than anything they can fit on a cruise ship. Theosprey247 Posted March 5, 2023 #13 Share Posted March 5, 2023 On our December Panorama cruise the Sky Zone was booked solid the whole cruise. At least that was what the CD said. It may have been a marketing ploy (ie hurry up and book before it sells out).
