Gopherville Gal Posted May 29, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 29, 2004 I have 'em and would be glad to share. Since there are so many excursion options, it would be helpful to know which ones y'all are interested in, so's I don't have to try to post 'em all. Gopherville Gal Posted May 29, 2004 Author #6 Share Posted May 29, 2004 NOODLE.....we haven't gone yet...next month. The more we read, the more we're becoming convinced to book excursions on our own, at the port of call. The only thing is that if you really, really didn't want to miss out on something, you could either pre-book it directly with the tour company (before leaving home) or book on board. IMSULIN....could you please check on the Spirit's site and let me know which ones you are interested in...there are so many!
noodle Posted May 29, 2004 #7 Share Posted May 29, 2004 Thanks Gopherville...helps to save and budget accordingly. Be sure to come back and post on your alaskan adventure! Have a great time. Pride 02/15/04 Spirit 05/11/
imsulin Posted May 29, 2004 #8 Share Posted May 29, 2004 GophervilleGal - can you please give me a link or direction to the Spirit site? There will be about 40 of us on the Aug. 10, 2005 Spirit. Also, please let me know about Vancouver excursions, as we will be there for two days before our cruise. Thanks so much!
Gopherville Gal Posted May 29, 2004 Author #9 Share Posted May 29, 2004 IMSULIN...http://carnival.com/ Then, click on Shore Excursions (at top) and enter where you're going with Carnival and the port of call you're checking out...there's a list. You check them out, one by one. 40 of you! How fun! I'll see what I can find out for you re VancBC.
Gopherville Gal Posted May 30, 2004 Author #10 Share Posted May 30, 2004 IMSULIN...Go to the C.Critic's "Ports of Call" board, then to "Alaska". Find the post called "10 Things to Do in Vancouver"; then the one called "Vancouver Restaurants".
CruisinMK Posted May 30, 2004 #11 Share Posted May 30, 2004 I haven't booked yet, but this ship and itinerary are exactly what I am shopping for right now. I'm trying to find a bargain spirit alaska cruise going anytime this summer, single person in a cabin, preferably northbound. Airfare basically free/flexible for me so a non-issue. I'm focused on this itinerary because I have a 50% off carnival coupon due to a previous botched carnival cruise, and I'm burned out on the Carribean. Since I'm a repeat carnival cruiser, maybe I should look into additional discounts due to that. They seem to offer the best deals for last minute buyers, so maybe I'll try that. All ideas/tips welcome.
Guest Crazeecat5 Posted June 6, 2004 #12 Share Posted June 6, 2004 Hi Noodle, It's me, Sheryl from the Pride cruise. I was checking out Alaska boards because Robert and I were thinking of doing that cruise next summer, when I saw your post. I see you are going in May. How exciting! Have you heard from any of our other friends from the Pride? Haven't been on CCL boards much because we are going on RCCL in Europe this summer. Not a traitor, it's just that CCl doesn't do Europe. Keep in touch. NewHeart Posted June 27, 2004 #13 Share Posted June 27, 2004 GophervilleGal, I will be on the 9/1/04 Southbound Spirit. The only pricing I have been able to get from Carnival were price ranges. Tomdcruise Posted June 27, 2004 #14 Share Posted June 27, 2004 Hi! We're sailing on the Spirit from Vancouver to Honolulu on 9/22/04. Haven't been able to get excursion prices from Carnival either via email or their website. Would appreciate it if you'd send prices or post online. Thanks Hey MikeKay, I had a 50% off coupon as well for a 7 day cruise cancelled in 2002 by Carnival when I showed up at the pier. Coupon was good for any cruise up to 12 days, so used it for this 12 day Hawaii cruise on the Spirit. Carnival was nice enough to give 50% off to my cabinmate as well, even though it wasn't the same person I was with when the cruise got cancelled. Anyway, wish you luck on booking a cruise. I've gone solo 3 times now out of 20 cruises. Only when I can't find someone to join me. Tom Doherty tomdcruise@yahoo.com

noodle Posted June 30, 2004 #16 Share Posted June 30, 2004 Crazeecat...I just ran across your post and see that you are on your cruise to europe. Next year Carnival will be in europe! Well, if you are thinking of doing alaska, I can't say enough about our cruise, May 11th, 2005. It would be too funny if we were on the same cruise again. I really enjoyed meeting you and all the CC members on the Pride. Mike keeps telling me that I am a famous cruise chick since so many people on the Pride knew me from the boards. But after the newlywed game, he too became "famous." Solo has started a rollcall for our alaskan adventure...so look for me there.
Fondy Posted June 30, 2004 #17 Share Posted June 30, 2004 Several weeks ago, I emailed Carnival Guest Services and requested a complete shore excursion list with prices. Within a few days, I received an email with all info. (I actually posted the name of excursion and costs on a different cruise forum web-site, but I see someone already did that here). I do have them (along with complete excursion descriptions) in an e-mail so if anyone is interested, I could forward that e-mail. Be prepared, it's about 40 pages if you print the e-mail. Fondy Posted July 23, 2004 #22 Share Posted July 23, 2004 until we board the Spirit for our first ever cruise! It was so exciting when we got our docs! However was surprised to see that the excursion book didn't contain prices either. Can't for the life of me understand why Carnival doesn't just post the actual dollar amount - not like we're not going to eventually find out how much the excursions will cost!?! As I said in an earlier post, I just e-mailed customer service and they replied with the complete list so it's not a state secret or anything. We booked three things on our own (Floatplane, whale watching, and rental car) so all we need to book on the ship is our Sitka excursion and our Whittier to Anchorage excursion (we have pre-paid transfer but now found out our return flight isn't til 10pm so we get an extra day of sight-seeing - yeah!) Bon Voyage!
