markham Posted April 14, 2023 #9 Share Posted April 14, 2023 Look carefully at that sentence “As one of our top Seabourn Club members I hope…”. It was written by the new Seabourn president or maybe some staffer. Either way I wonder which one IS the top Club member? Probably neither of them. This is a classic mistake of English grammar known as a dangling participle, something I remember learning in grade school. Not really good enough in a business letter, is it. Happy and healthy sailing!

MJN1 Posted April 21, 2023 #11 Share Posted April 21, 2023 Those cabins are still being flogged and an further enticements on board have been added! "less than 2 months away from my inaugural President’s Voyage aboard Seabourn's newest and most innovative ship, Seabourn Venture. As one of our top Seabourn Club members I hope you can join me on this Arctic Expedition sailing on June 17th. Not only will members of our staff be on board along with our 24-member Expedition Team, but we are pleased to also have famed jeweler Hubert Gesser joining us with his gorgeous gem-set treasures" 🧐

markham Posted April 24, 2023 #18 Share Posted April 24, 2023 Does anyone find it appealing or attractive that a selling point for this cruise is a jeweller on board? Maybe an academic lecturer in conservation or specialist in documentaries or ethnic entertainer. But a jeweller?!? Oh, please… Who is charge of Marketing at Seabourn anyway? And who do they take us for? Happy and healthy sailing!
rallydave Posted April 24, 2023 Author #19 Share Posted April 24, 2023 A jeweler on board makes me think of the awful park west so called art auctions on the mainstream cruise lines. And appalling is the fact that I am on this presidents cruise and absolutely no notification from Seabourn about this fact and only way I know is thru Seatrade daily who posted an interview with the new president plus posts on CC. less than 2 months to the cruise and the sounds of silence about this cruise are defeating. After reading about the president I contacted seabourn to ask about anything special and the agent had no idea about the fact that it was happening?? And now an overpriced jeweler wow can’t wait!! Only for new bookings and could not cancel and rebook as at 100% cancellation They did upgrade me from V3 to Panorama suite so did get something. Believe the cruise is not close to full another reason for the 35% off. Really looking forward to the cruise and sure there will be specials onboard. Will be on for 29 nights so B to B. It appears that SB is having difficulty selling the Venture cruises. We've been offered the 35% off as well--but we have no plans to sail on the expedition ships, even at that reduction. They just don't suit us. i know they are fun for others. I'll have to go back and look at the offer but I think it was for any expedition cruise through 2024.
