basil1 Posted May 12, 2023 #26 Share Posted May 12, 2023 We sailed on the Constellation out of Tampa February 2023. There was fog for our embarkation and we didn't get on the ship until late. I want to say it was about 6:30 pm and apparently some of those disembarking from the previous cruise got off really late. We didn't have any problem with our disembarkation day. ddavis5us Posted May 12, 2023 #27 Share Posted May 12, 2023 We were on a back to back on Carnival in January. We also were on the Connie in late February. In all three cases we had fog. We live in Tampa and in that timeframe it is not unusual. We have gotten where we check the dock cam to make sure the boat is docked before heading downtown. However, for us, both Carnival and Celebrity have learned their lesson. All three returns were moved forward in anticipation of the fog coming in rather than being held at the bridge as if we had delayed entry. We actually entered US Waters on all three occasions about 10 pm. and were under the Bridge about midnight. Some gamblers were unhappy because the tables/slots shut down with the entry into US borders. Bars remained open/shows continue but tax was due on drinks. Everything else relative to disembarking and embarking, went as scheduled. Much improved. In the past, I remember one cruise where we were about 2 pm being docked. Fog typically is gone in the 9 to 11 AM time period but you are almost 2 hours from the bridge to being docked.
