We were able to borrow one from our cabin steward last August. Came home from that trip and purchased a champagne stopper to live in our travel gear, along with the ever-present wine opener. techteach Posted June 17, 2023 #28 Share Posted June 17, 2023 Getting a champagne cork back into a bottle is a challenge since the end of the bouchon expands.
LAD60 Posted July 31 #29 Share Posted July 31 Is this information still current. Seems to have changed to one bottle of alcohol….
BigMac1953 Posted July 31 #30 Share Posted July 31 It's always been "one bottle", that's why we take five or six bottles of fizz. We'll be on board QA for our 26th trip in November and will be bringing our usual. 1
Pear Carr Posted July 31 #31 Share Posted July 31 It is total scaremongering as far as I can see - just back from 2 weeks on Queen Anne and you can still take on whatever you want! 2

Take sharp knife. Cut off the ‘mushroom bulb”. Turn cork upside down and insert the thin end into top of bottle. Press hardish until just over half of the cork inserted. Good for a short term fix. As an aside, at Martinique the rolling on a barrel of Rhum caused much amusement.

Works fine as a back up.
BigMac1953 Posted August 1 #37 Share Posted August 1 Alternatively, just use the fizzy wine stopper provided. 1
