jajsmom Posted June 17, 2023 #1 Share Posted June 17, 2023 We're going to Australia with Princess this October. Specifically the port of Brisbane, there is a new port for docking which is a good half hour away from the city center. There is no public transportation from the port. Does Princess offer a shuttle, and if so, how much? Also has anyone used taxi/uber from that location? Trying to plan our own excursions, but want to be sure we can make it on time. Thanks! milolii Posted June 17, 2023 #2 Share Posted June 17, 2023 Maybe ask your question on the Australia/ New Zealand Cruisers forum as well. Very helpful folks there. Many seem to cruise with Princess, so may know specifically about transportation in Brisbane. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/48-australia-amp-new-zealand/
capriccio Posted June 18, 2023 #3 Share Posted June 18, 2023 We were on the April Round Australia cruise and Brisbane was our final port before disembarking in Sydney. There was no shuttle and a taxi was around $40 each way. We ended up doing a Princess excursion - the Loan Pine Koala Sanctuary - which we enjoyed and included a guided tour through the city and stops at 2 scenic overlooks. Relaxing Robbies Posted June 18, 2023 #4 Share Posted June 18, 2023 We visited Brisbane on Coral Princess in March. We did not take the shuttle, but this shuttle was available at a cost of AUD $39.95.

We plan to go to the Lone Pine Sanctuary and do some sightseeing in town. and it looks like we can do all of that with this transportation, without the exorbitant Princess fees for the excursion, and without the ability to see more in Brisbane. Just remember because a shuttle was offered on one cruise doesn’t mean it will offered on all. It wasn’t on our cruise at the end of April. That’s why we ended up making reservations for the Princess excursion at the last minute. this was the first cruising season for the new port so maybe a regularly scheduled shuttle will be available when spring cruising starts. It is a long ride into Brisbane. Added - Lone Pine is outside the city so you will incur additional transportation costs and time.
