lynnber Posted July 2, 2023 #1 Share Posted July 2, 2023 Anyone do a good food tour, or city tour without beach stops, or any recommendations? We'll be there in two weeks!

We'll be there in two weeks! Consider contacting Tours by Locals, as many tour operators will offer what 99% of visitors want, this being the inclusion a beach stop with food/bar. TBL will be able to offer exactly what one requires, albeit food, history etc.
MTNest93 Posted July 3, 2023 #3 Share Posted July 3, 2023 We will be there on Wednesday and plan to taxi to Maho beach to watch the planes land and then to the boardwalk for bars, food, and shopping.
ksp819 Posted July 4, 2023 #4 Share Posted July 4, 2023 (edited) We have done a Toppers Rhum distillery tour that was fun and gave you a nice tour of St. Maarten over towards Simpson Bay and also went by Maho Beach. Most recently we did a scavenger hunt called the adventure race. This is fun if you have a group of people you’re traveling with. Ashland Posted July 6, 2023 #5 Share Posted July 6, 2023 We also just do a roundtrip taxi to Maho to watch the planes then have them drop us off in town for some shopping and water taxi back to ship.

They also offer tours there if you want to take a cab The adventure race was offered through the ship but I purchased through trisportsxm.com. We were all on the same thing only the ship people took the water taxi and we took a 10 minute walk. We beat them by 30’min and had to wait on them. But we also paid a lot less 😊
EatonDoolittle Posted July 11, 2023 #8 Share Posted July 11, 2023 I think this sounds like fun, and plan to do it sometime on a future visit. Captain Kate from Celebrity did it last year, and posted all about it on her Insta page. However, beware of wearing your creations on an elevator on the ship . That can upset some people. For those who are link-phobic, it is a perfume making class. https://stmartin.tijon.com/
Rare nimbex1970 Posted August 27, 2023 #9 Share Posted August 27, 2023 If you are a foodie, the french side has some lovely places. Start with trip advisors and obviously scratch any brand names. The bakeries are wonderful as well.
PORT ROYAL Posted August 28, 2023 #10 Share Posted August 28, 2023 If going to the French side for lunch, remember good Restaurants do get full, so best to book well in advance. Consider La Villa for a shabby chic dining experience with an excellent set Menu (one can upgrade a course, or two, if wished at a nominal fee), plus their wine list is extensive and reasonable.
