vwrestler171 Posted July 5, 2023 #2 Share Posted July 5, 2023 I don't play, but I see a lot of people playing it. It's like BINGO, If the cruise line wasn't making money, they wouldn't do it which makes the prizes not very favorable, IMO. I haven't seen anyone win any of the top 2 prizes, only 1-2 of the 3rd tier, but a lot of the lower 3 tiers.
Rare jimbo5544 Posted July 5, 2023 #3 Share Posted July 5, 2023 We have played and won $278. Would have been more if we took the deal the round before. It was a blast.
ZoeyVictoria Posted July 5, 2023 #4 Share Posted July 5, 2023 I have won the free bingo cards twice. Both times, the first thing they tried to do when I picked up the cards was sell me an “upgrade” for $23. And both times, the game was at 6 p.m. on the last night. Lee Cruiser Posted July 5, 2023 #6 Share Posted July 5, 2023 Obviously the ones selected to play on stage are the ones that could win the most, but that is one or two out of hundreds of cards sold. As far as everyone else, chances are slim at winning much, if anything. Carnival is the one making big money out of this.
staceyglow Posted July 5, 2023 #7 Share Posted July 5, 2023 Other than Deal or No Deal, the only gambling I do onboard is with my Platinum casino credit. We usually play DOND one time on each cruise. Yes, the odds aren't great, but you go through far less cash in the time frame the game is played than you would typically in the casino. We buy three cards, and we usually win something each time we play (mostly bingo cards). We ignore the bingo upsell and bring a pencil so that we don't even need a dobber. dallasdan Posted July 5, 2023 #8 Share Posted July 5, 2023 I attended for the first time on the Breeze this past weekend. We purchased 3 cards for $50. They play 2 games. The cards are good for both. On the first game, I won $30 casino free play. It showed up on my casino account the next day. To win the free play you have to get 3 matches. The second game I won the $25 off of bingo. You only need 2 matches for this. We did not play bingo. If you get 5 matches you win $200. 3 people got the 5 matches. It was a fun and I will probably go again on the next cruise. lesters Posted July 5, 2023 #9 Share Posted July 5, 2023 We've played twice - each cruise that offers it we will play. Its a fun game, something to do and we do it for the entertainment value. Both times we have won both bingo cards and casino cash. Close to breaking even which is nice but again we play for the fun, not to try to win anything specifically. Pyxie Posted July 5, 2023 #10 Share Posted July 5, 2023 I've won the Bingo cards. Yes, chances are that you aren't going to come away a winner, but I enjoy it. It's more entertaining than Bingo with watching the contestant on stage as you play along.

canes20 Posted July 5, 2023 #13 Share Posted July 5, 2023 We play and enjoy. I was picked to be on stage once. Took the deal at $106. Had $10 in my case. We won casino cash once.
Rare TravelBluebird Posted July 5, 2023 #14 Share Posted July 5, 2023 I have played twice, on the Mardi Gras and the Venezia. First time I won $25 for Bingo and $30 Casino cash. Second time I just won the $25 for Bingo. It was fun and I like that you can win little prizes—for Bingo, either you’re the big winner or a loser, no in between, and on the larger ships there are so many people playing Bingo that your odds to win are not great.
Rudyard Posted July 6, 2023 #15 Share Posted July 6, 2023 Never been up on stage, but have played a few times. Last cruise I won a bingo card and $30 casino cash. Of the two people on my last cruise that got called up on stage, one won $10 and the other won the $1000 jackpot. Guy that won big was on his first cruise too. nybumpkin Posted July 6, 2023 #16 Share Posted July 6, 2023 I think what annoys me about the game is not the game itself - it's fun to watch. But it seems to be a replacement for what I consider "legitimate entertainment," such as shows or music. NCL is much worse in this regard than Carnival - they clearly regard it as a replacement for shows, or at least they did on my Prima cruise a few months ago. But it's just another way to get money out of the passengers....☹️

I feel the same way about Family Feud show they are doing on the ships now It seems like these game shows is a way to cut back on entertainment of doing shows in the theater

srobinet63 Posted July 7, 2023 Author #23 Share Posted July 7, 2023 Thanks everyone for the many different responses. I think we will play with no expectations. My son loves the show he is 37 and has special needs. He will get a kick out of trying to win something.

We played and were appalled at the payouts. Each person won 50cents. We actually won a "free" Bingo card which ended up costing us $23 more and the last Bingo day was a farce, they only pay out the $5,000 if someone wins on the first 29 numbers. After that it is regular bingo.
