CedarLane Posted July 12, 2023 #1 Share Posted July 12, 2023 My 22yo daughter arrives to FCO at 9:30 am, and my husband and I arrive at 11:30am. After she retrieves her luggage, is there a spot for her to wait for us? Is there a nearby cafe? Is it safe from pickpockets, etc?
mapleleaves Posted July 12, 2023 #2 Share Posted July 12, 2023 (edited) I'm sure someone will be along with specific info for FCO, but I'll provide my solution to a similar situation last yr. My SIL arrived at 7am to London Heathrow, I arrived at 11am. Same terminal thankfully. She wasn't sure where she'd be when I arrived, and no guarantee my flight would be on time. We both had whatsapp on our phones, so after I arrived I texted her via whatsapp and asked where she was. She was having a b'fast at Fortnum & Mason so I joined her for a cup of tea ! Easy solution ! euro cruiser Posted July 12, 2023 #3 Share Posted July 12, 2023 You can see the map of Terminal 3 arrivals here: You depart from baggage between belts 9 and 10 and there are places to get something to eat while waiting. If she waits airside without collecting her bags, they will be hard to find a couple of hours later. They don't leave them just sitting around waiting, they will be collected and stored somewhere that you'd need to track down.

CruiserBruce Posted July 13, 2023 #5 Share Posted July 13, 2023 We did something similar a number of years ago, with Sister-in-law getting in about 2.5 hours prior to us. She had coffee outside Customs somewhere, and was there waiting for our arrival.
