Sunnyweather Posted July 18, 2023 #1 Share Posted July 18, 2023 Wondering if it is easy to catch a taxi at this port. We don't want to go to Bangkok as we will do that on our second day but would be interested in the Floating Market at Pattaya. Has anyone done this or have experience with the port? Thanks.... A few years back, so this may not be up-to-date....... There's no suitable public transport, there may be taxis outside the port gate but it's a large commercial port and you are likely to be berthed 1.5 miles from the gate. There are private-hire taxis at your ship's pier, but they are in a cartel and - because they know that those who've not arranged transport in advance have no choice - their taxi-masters charge extortionate prices. So I suggest that in advance you fix up a private tour to include the floating market - it's only about 17 miles e/w and won't occupy your whole day, so build it in with something else, for instance the elephant sanctuary or beach, Make sure you find an established and well-reviewed operator, and you might find like-minded sharers through your cruise RollCall.
