Disneycruzluver58 Posted July 22, 2023 #1 Share Posted July 22, 2023 We will be on the Canada/New England cruise in Oct and we stop in Portland. This is a tender port and was wondering if we are scheduled to dock at 10:00, what time is realistic to get off ship? We are platinum and have priority disembark. And how long is the tender over, approximately? Trying to schedule a tour that can start at 11. Is this doable? Thank You, Tammy
bluesea777 Posted July 22, 2023 #2 Share Posted July 22, 2023 Portland, Maine is not a tender port. You will dock. Newport, RI and Bar Harbor, ME are tender ports. 1
MacGuffin3 Posted July 22, 2023 #3 Share Posted July 22, 2023 Wow, I thought this was about Portland Oregon. Thinking I'd been unaware of a secret cruise port there all my life. On that note I wonder how busy Astoria is these days? I always here that's an up-and-coming cruise stop.

Thank You, Tammy While you won't tender in portland, "how long" is dependent upon the ship and the tendering arrangement that have on that day with the port. Ship's lifeboats,,, slower. Big tenders from port, less-slower. wrt "Priority Tendering", it just means that you can join the back of the line at any time, without pulling a tender ticket. We have been on a big ship like the Epic where "priority tendering" took 1 hour to get from the back of the line to being on the tender (almost all tendering is not that bad - that was our worst experience). Haven/Suites guests will be escorted to the front of the line. Some NCL shore excursions will be escorted to the front of the line. In general, allow yourselves a lot of time to get ashore if you are doing a private tour.... you are not the cruise line priority.
Rare 1025cruise Posted July 22, 2023 #6 Share Posted July 22, 2023 The bigger question, when do you go to Portland? Is it before or after going to Canada? If after, and it's the first stop, you need to clear US Immigration.
