Rare New2cruise2022 Posted August 3, 2023 #1 Share Posted August 3, 2023 Reading conflicting information about the cabanas in the Retreat. I’m hoping I can get some feedback to clarify but fear I will only find comments to compound the confusion … and yet, I will open it up to all of you. I know the Sanctuary is a pay to play area. I have read some things that say the cabanas are available to rent in the Retreat as well. Has anyone rented the Retreat cabanas? When did you rent it? How much did you rent it for? What was your overall experience? Thanks for any thoughts!

My cabin was on the Sky deck so I spent a lot of time up there.I don't know if things have changed though since then.

Rare Auntiejo Posted August 3, 2023 #4 Share Posted August 3, 2023 Same for us in December - free but impossible to get on a sea day - people always had their stuff on them to save them very early in the morning. In fact that was our experience for the entire Retreat Pool - even just a lounge chair on the lower level. We only were able to use that area on port days when we stayed on ship.

This is both unfortunate and unsurprising. Not gonna lie, makes me want to go even earlier and take as many chairs as I can, only to be there to give them away to people that show up at a reasonable hour to enjoy them. pandydandy Posted September 5, 2023 #6 Share Posted September 5, 2023 They were free on my cruises in December 2022, but we were on another Princess ship in February that they charged for. They just sat open. Not sure why that one charged and Discovery doesn't.
