bitob Posted August 3, 2023 #1 Share Posted August 3, 2023 My first 2 ss cruises were at the end of the worst of the pandemic so there was no duplicate bridge on sea days. Bridge involves contact!! The b2b cruise I am ion now only has 2 sea days so I did not expect a bridge director can anyone tell me if recent cruises with sufficient sea days had a bridge director and acbl sanctioned games
nowornever Posted August 4, 2023 #2 Share Posted August 4, 2023 My understanding is that if there are 3 sea days, they will have a director. Look for the "spade" symbol on the website when you look at the cruise. Things change so this policy may have been updated.
Rare FlyerTalker Posted August 4, 2023 #3 Share Posted August 4, 2023 SS used to have a reference page: https://www.silversea.com/destinations/theme-cruises/bridge-sailings.html It now appears to be non-functional. Also the "spade" went the way of the "bowtie" that showed when there were dance hosts onboard. Both gone with the move to RCCL.
bitob Posted August 4, 2023 Author #4 Share Posted August 4, 2023 I found that useless link which is why I asked the question I spoke to hotel director today. Definitely duplicate on Ss

No bowties in the listing for my upcoming SS cruise. And there are plenty of sea days on it where a formal night might fit in.

Aussieflyer Posted August 5, 2023 #8 Share Posted August 5, 2023 OT but there are definitely no bowties showing on Muse Auckland to Sydney 7 December. Not sure whether they haven't updated yet to include them or even if there are formal nights.
labrasett Posted August 5, 2023 #9 Share Posted August 5, 2023 Duplicate bridge available on the Dawn in March on Barbados to Lisbon cruise but not very user friendly for less experienced players.
