Rare death_star Posted September 29, 2023 #1 Share Posted September 29, 2023 We've been rerouted from Bermuda. Just when I thought we were in the clear from the tropical systems. We’ve been closely monitoring the development of inclement weather systems along with our Chief Meteorologist, Craig Setzer, for our September 30th, 2023 Liberty of the Seas sailing. The storm’s path makes it hard to provide you with a safe and comfortable journey to Bermuda. So, after exploring all of our options, we’ve decided to sail to Saint John, New Brunswick instead. Please see our updated itinerary and some details about our sailing below.
reallyitsmema Posted September 29, 2023 #2 Share Posted September 29, 2023 That's too bad. Just make sure you search Saint John when you are looking for things to do and not St. John. On one of our sailings, someone on the rollcall was all excited about an excursion they had booked, not realizing they had booked Newfoundland, not New Brunswick. 😄
smokeybandit Posted September 29, 2023 #3 Share Posted September 29, 2023 I assume this is in relation to Rina, which isn't projected to really come close to Bermuda?
LouChamp Posted September 29, 2023 #4 Share Posted September 29, 2023 Aloha. i am sorry to hear this. Have been to Bermuda by air and sea dozens of times since the 1970s and love it. Canada not so much in my opinion. I would be terribly disappointed but unfortunately the cruise line has the final and ultimate call. Hopefully they will provide some monetary compensation but anyway the ship is great and I am sure they will work hard to provide a great time. Please keep us posted. Surprised they are docking at midnight and closing the casino 2 or 3 hours early, why not sail around and keep everything still open...........just how many people do they think will leave the ship at midnight on Sunday? It is a very odd docking schedule. They also updated the verbiage on the website. "you decide not to join us on this sailing, there is nothing for you to do. You’ll automatically receive a full refund, including any non-refundable deposits, to the original payment on file within 14 business days after the end of our sailing" wonder if they'd do anything to get us on another sailing instead. Rare DragonOfTheSeas Posted September 29, 2023 #8 Share Posted September 29, 2023 I am sure the times of the tides are determining when they arrive and leave. There are big tides here.
luckyinpa Posted September 29, 2023 #9 Share Posted September 29, 2023 book a car and drive to st martins caves after looking at the tide charts. go during low tide and you can walk out to the third 'alcove' and have tons of fun!
RD64 Posted September 30, 2023 #10 Share Posted September 30, 2023 Although it is not Bermuda, you may be pleasantly surprised by our Canadian hospitality.

This will be my third province but the rest of the family's first. Had a great time in Ontario and Quebec.
