Rare Haljo1935 Posted December 26, 2023 Author #351 Share Posted December 26, 2023 (edited) I have apparently used my thermal pass too much today - Samsung Health reports I'm behind. In fairness, the time is not correct- ship time is 2 hours earlier. It won't help; I will not make much progress as dinner we know will be minimum 2 hours. And I'm not walking the decks at midnight. Rare Haljo1935 Posted December 26, 2023 Author #352 Share Posted December 26, 2023 Christmas dinner as served on the Koningsdam. Chicken & wild rice soup was too salty to eat, but was served at a good temperature. My Santa was received broken; tablemates was not, but I didn't get a picture. Tablemate did not care for their plum pudding.

There are 2 cold water bucket drops located in the thermal suite near the 2 steam rooms. One of them is between the non-functional horizontal shower and steam room. The other is inside the door to the left of the steam room that has a sea view. Just look up alongside the wall and you should see a bucket with a chain. Just get under it and give the chain a long, hard pull for a refreshing wake up. I just recommend doing this immediately upon leaving the steam room. 4
Hogladyrider Posted December 26, 2023 #355 Share Posted December 26, 2023 Question for anyone on this cruise. We are on the January 30th sailing. Our 1st time to Hawaii and our 1st cruise since the shut down (so I am rusty). Question regarding Room Service.....we have the HAL pkg.....but we prefer morning coffee in our room on the balcony. Can I order room service for morning delivery at a time the night before? I see that HAL does not use the written slips only call on the phone that is why I ask. Thanks in advance. Susan We often order just a pot of coffee for morning so we can drink it while getting ready for the day. Just mark it on the door hanger and put it out the night before. 3

Others on the list included A Christmas Carol, Scrooge, The Grinch, Christmas Vacation and Home Alone ... Die Hard was not on the list for all those who insist it is a Christmas movie. Susan Hey Susan - you will receive a breakfast "hanger" each day to put out by 2am. I use mine for "pre-breakfast" so I can have coffee before heading to breakfast. You'll fill in your delivery time (I think the earliest available is 6am); they'll deliver w/in 15 min either way (before or after). It's a fairly limited menu, but you can write things in and they'll usually accommodate. I sometimes add 🥓 🥓 or oatmeal and have always gotten it. If you're a big coffee drinker, you might ask for 2 pots as they're kinda small. You are also able to order breakfast from room service. I will take a picture of the breakfast hanger tonight when I get one. Edited December 26, 2023 by Haljo1935 Typo

Rare sunviking90 Posted December 26, 2023 #367 Share Posted December 26, 2023 This was the breakfast door hanger last month on the Volendam. I’ll be curious to see if the crew on Koningsdam has mastered the spelling of “dining”. 😃

Rare Haljo1935 Posted December 26, 2023 Author #369 Share Posted December 26, 2023 Nice attendance for C&TD Kristen's talk on the first 3 sport Iron Man competition in HI. Then a stop in the library for some reading and pre-swell sea watching. My spot My view Yard to capture because the water moves quickly and, well honestly, I do not, lol, but the swells are starting to get larger.

Rare Haljo1935 Posted December 26, 2023 Author #372 Share Posted December 26, 2023 Captain says we're 185 NM from HI and waves have been measured at 14' and still expected to get larger. We're on schedule to dock at 7am. He reports there will be no volcanic 🌋 cruising as there is no flow or activity to see 🙄 👀, so we'll take a shorter route and get 2 extra hours in Hilo (1 before, 1 after). Captain says the birds🦤 we've been seeing circling our ship are red footed boobies that can travel out 300NM from land. That's it for today's update and means it's lunchtime. 😏

When you click on it, a box outlines the section, then it sits there; repeatedly tapping it does not get better results, lol. I haven't checked the "let us know" portion.
