patty1955 Posted January 5 #26 Share Posted January 5 While there are snacks available for sale (chips, etc.) they are very expensive. The shops onboard will have things you might forget (toothpaste, deodorant, antacids, etc.) , they will cost at least twice what they do onshore.

The maximum luggage allowance for guests boarding our ships is 200lbs (90kg) per guest, (with the exception of Celebrity Flora, Celebrity Xpedition, Celebrity Xperience and Celebrity Xploration), however, airlines also impose their own luggage allowance, with which you must also comply. Yes, husband and I can only take 20kg each as we will be flying from Melbourne to Sydney to meet the Edge in November. Not many ships depart from our home town.

I assume that when you say snacks you mean things such as processed nuts or chips or chocolate in factory sealed bags, which I have never been stopped bringing aboard. I once tried to bring a lemon onboard and that was confiscated. Non-alcoholic beverages are supposed to be in the luggage you carry on-board and NOT supposed to be in checked luggage. I think there might be size and weight limits for carry-ons since they go through the security X-ray scanners. You didn't ask however if departing from a US port (I don't know the rules for other countries) each adult can bring a bottle of wine (750ml) for consumption in their cabin, various people talk about pouring a glass of wine and carrying it around the ship with them however I think that is technically against the rules unless you pay a corkage fee.

Fruits and vegetables are not even supposed to be carried across state lines, let alone borders. Sodas and waters can be brought on board. I've heard of people putting a luggage tag on a box of sodas and getting it delivered to their room.

Hilaurennn Posted January 7 Author #33 Share Posted January 7 Thanks for all of these answers! I have yet another question! On the stops where I don't want to book a full excursion, does celebrity tend to put on a shuttle bus to the town centre? For example, we are stopping at Stockholm- we are 15 minutes away from the town. There are excursions we can do but we want to explore on our own. Is it up to us to find our own way to the centre or do they tend to offer a bus for those who would like to do this? Thanks!

Charge is usually $15-20 pp. There are also taxis available, and there may be a local bus.

Rare Itchy&Scratchy Posted January 31 #37 Share Posted January 31 could someone please point me in the right direction? I want to find official verbiage as to what non-alcoholic drinks we are allowed to bring with us and how many (per party/per person). Thank you! I looked on X website, but didn't find it.

spencer8 Posted July 6 #43 Share Posted July 6 When is the optimal time - re price - to book an additional cruise segment? We are sailing on a Celebrity transatlantic cruise and may add the next segment to extend our time on board. Does Celebrity offer “last minute” discounts or incentives? Thank you. So excited! I have some very basic cruise/celeb cruise questions I'd love help with please. They're very basic I'm sure so no judgement please! 1. If we want to book speciality dining, is it best to do so pre cruise, or is there usually enough space for us to book a table on the day? 2. If we are cruising as 2, do we get seated on a table for 2 with the included dining or will we get seated on a table with other cruisers? Is there any way to ensure we just get a table for 2? 3. How much luggage can you take with you? 4. Can you take non alcoholic drinks and snacks with you? 5. When arriving at a destination, how do you know how far you are from the 'centre' or If you'd need to arrange transport? 6. Am I correct in saying there are no reservations for shows? Is there an unwritten rule to show up x amount of time before to secure a seat? Thank you so much! zitsky Posted July 7 #45 Share Posted July 7 You will have a great time regardless. But a few of these depend on how much pre planning you want to do. Do you HAVE to eat at 6:30 or 7:15 every night or are you ok getting on the ship and gambling what times are available? They will do the best they can. If you must have specific times or certain restaurants it’s best to book ahead. Also in the theater are you happy to sit on the side or MUST you be in the front center row in front of the stage. If so I’d be there 30-45 minutes early. If you don’t care then 15 minutes before is enough. If you are in the Retreat there are reserved seats on the upper deck. Just wanted to add a little personal side suggestion, if you like things like nuts , chips , Cheetos , Doritos etc…. We have always brought some onboard with us. There is always food around to eat , but we like having a little stash of our snacks in our cabin. very good suggestions.. I also bring a few small cans or containers of apple or tomato juice ( we drive to port). 1 of the 4 mdrs will serve sit down bkfst and lunch, there's also EDEN cafe most days, spa cafe...lite healthy bkfst with.a few tables. And burgers/ hot dogs at the pool cafe. Buffet lunch can be interesting some days! for mdr dinner, children other than very young toddlers/ babies might want to dress better than shorts, esp chic night..all the kiddos always look so nice.. khakis and shirts for boys, sundresses for girls. in room tv/ movies for kids and adults are limited..bring their own devices for fun/ games! family movie may be shown up on the garden area Enjoy!
