Guest Cruisenewbie20181 Posted January 6 #1 Share Posted January 6 We are in our late 60’s booked on Beyond for 7 day cruise. Having second thoughts regarding length of cruise. Now considering cancelling and booking a four day on Reflection. Would like pro’s and con’ comparison between Beyond and Reflection.
KarlK Posted January 6 #2 Share Posted January 6 I can't compare ships since I have been on neither. But,6 days is the shortest cruise I can do, anything less I feel like I just relax and it's time to come home.

We would only book 6 day cruise if it was combined with a 14 day repositioning cruise 🤣

Why are you considering this? Price? Itinerary? Type of stateroom? Date?
Guest Cruisenewbie20181 Posted January 6 #5 Share Posted January 6 Not sure if 7 days will be too long for us. We are use to shorter trips.
luv2camp04 Posted January 6 #6 Share Posted January 6 The shorter cruises tend to (not always) be more of a "party" atmosphere. For many, it's just a weekend getaway. I love the Reflection, but I would stick with the Beyond. I haven't been on her, but there will be plenty to do and you'll get the full feel of what cruising is like. Just my 2 cents worth.

I have been on both. The Beyond is an amazing ship. There are 4 main dining rooms to choose from. The theater is spectacular. The drawback for some is the absence of traditional balconies. Reflection is a very good ship but it tended to feel more crowded. Food was very good on the Reflection. A good choice as well. We have done the shorter cruises. As mentioned, the shorter ones tend to be a young crowded with more drinking. Not the traditional Celebrity crowd. Also, 7 days go by rather quickly.
Guest Cruisenewbie20181 Posted January 6 #9 Share Posted January 6 (edited) Price, itinerary. When I booked it was on Reflection but Celebrity changed ships. Part of what is causing my hesitancy to now do 7 days is because we were on a 5 day in November on another cruise line and It was terrible activity wise. Spent 5 days by the pool and in casino. I Don’t want to do that for 7 days. Edited January 6 by Cruisenewbie20181 Misspelled
jelayne Posted January 6 #10 Share Posted January 6 Sounds like you didn’t get off the ship while in port. If you plan to stay on board when the ship is in port then there will be far less things to do during the day. Every line we have cruised on reduces the mid day dining options, activities, and entertainment. The shops and casino are also closed while in port.
McGarrett5oh Posted January 6 #11 Share Posted January 6 7 days will fly by and getting off the ship in port, even if just to walk about a bit will change the dynamics. Plus the Beyond is a gorgeous ship with much to offer besides the casino and pool. IMO
akowilm Posted January 6 #12 Share Posted January 6 I personally like the shorter ones, especially if the port is not far from home. Its like a long weekend at the beach. I love the Reflection and have sailed on her many times, including the inaugural season. I have not sailed on any of the Edge class ships, but I love the classic feel of the Solstice class. I especially like that the Lawn Club Grill is still available on the Reflection.
dreamer321 Posted January 6 #13 Share Posted January 6 I sailed both ships within the last year. While Reflection was nice I really loved Beyond. I've also done a short 4 day cruise on Summit and would rather sail for at least 7 days. More opportunities for specialty dining if you're interested, more variety of shows and I loved the relaxation of sea days. If you've always done short cruises in the past give a seven day cruise a try, you might find you'll really like it. If you don't then in the future you can go back to short cruises.
