JazzyV Posted January 8 #52 Share Posted January 8 (edited) Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily @kazu. I like argyle socks and sweaters. I'll pass on bubble baths for showers instead, and divorce. Funny quote. Interesting meal. Pass on the drink and wine ($$$). I have been to Napier, NZ on my first HAL cruise from Auckland to Sydney. 3 good days in history. It's chilly here, and cloudy. Rain later in the week and very high winds. I got about 4 hours of sleep again. I got an early call this AM from the nurse of the interventional radiologist, saying they needed to see my MRI. So sending the referral directly to them worked! I have a disc that I will mail to them. Then I had to straighten out a bill for the MRI. I also called my insurance claim specialist to see if the mitigation bill will be covered. So I got some things done. @seagarsmoker Good news that you're feeling much better. @grapau27 Thanks for the explanations. @StLouisCruisers Excellent photos of Napier. That rocket headed to the moon has a lunar lander built right here in town by Astrobotic and also a rover that is a project of CMU students (Carnegie Mellon University). @rafinmd Thank you for the maps. Good luck with your treatment today. @ger_77 🥶That's cold! I hope DH is feeling better soon. @Nickelpenny I used to make yogurt all the time in my Instant Pot. I need to get back to it. Sad anniversary for Gabby Giffords and the 6 people killed. @aliaschief That sounds like a great evening. @dfish Stay safe in the storm! All the recipes look good. @cunnorl I remember you telling us about that awful shuttle driver. @RMLincoln I hope there's not too much flooding in your area. Enjoy watching the game tonight. @smitty34877 Thinking of you and Tana. @marshhawk I hope all goes ok with the Endocrinologist. @sailingdutchy Great photos. @VMax1700 Good to hear that DW's tests were ok. @Vict0riann Good luck getting the "bumps" removed. @kochleffel That balcony isn't bad at all. @Cruzin Terri Safe travels tomorrow and I hope the procedure goes well. At least if the bloodwork is off, the doctor may have recommendations to help your pain. Prayers for the Care List and Cheers for those Celebrating. Rare Haljo1935 Posted January 8 #54 Share Posted January 8 Hmm, is Monday a better day than any other to get divorced? I think I'll pass as well for the quote. Not been to the port and no sunrise pictures to share 😕 Important days in history - don't think we'll ever see zero debt, but I guess one can hope.🙄 54° headed to a rainy 63° Prayers and positive thoughts for all.

I think DH has some argyle socks, I haven't had a bubble bath in years, and I tell people we can't divorce because neither of us wants the kids. LOL I'm kidding! Well it happened, winter has begun. We had more snow yesterday and I'm expecting to hear the blower going any time as our snow removal guy makes an appearance. And it's cold. Right now it's -23C (-9F), and it's expected to get colder as the week progresses. I took out my downfilled jacket yesterday in anticipation of the change in weather and will put my light leather jacket back in the closet. DH was supposed to for a tooth extraction today, but yesterday woke with another head cold (what's up with that?), so I called and left a message canceling his appointment. We'll see how the week progresses and hopefully he can get it taken care of before we leave on vacation. @rafinmd thinking of you as you begin your radiation treatments today. @marshhawkhope all goes well with your endocrinologist appointment. Other than staying warm, there's not much on the agenda, so I think I'll work on going through our cruise clothes to see what fits, what should be brought, what should stay home and what needs to be purchased to fill in the blanks. We're getting to FLL 3 days in advance of sailing, so anything I've forgotten will be able to be replaced without worry. We've cruised often enough that it's rare to actually forget things, but you never know! I'm going to give the drink of the day a pass - I had one when we were in Japan and drank it to be polite, but that's all. I'd like the wine, but it's out of my budget, and look forward to today's recipe. I'm going to take out some salmon fillets that will be baked in the air fryer and served along with tater tots and a side salad that we can enjoy at the kitchen table tonight. And wine. Prayers for everyone who needs them, especially those in the midst of wars. Cheers to all with celebrations happening today. Smooth Sailing! ☺️☺️☺️ Gerry He may have developed allergies. Took me years to figure out why I was getting so many - COLDS ! 10

Thank you to Jacqui @kazu for taking over for Rich so that we have the Daily to look forward to each day. Thank you to Vanessa @JazzyV for the Lists that are kept so meticulously. I pray that you get some relief soon from your pains. Thank you to Debbie @dfish, Ann @cat shepard and Dixie @summer slope in the Food and Beverage Departments. We can always count on the three of you to keep us fed and hydrated. Today it is now 49 degrees outside and promises to go up to 56. Good day for my Argyle sweater. Since we replaced our Garden Tub with a beautiful big shower, I don’t think I will be taking a Bubble Bath. As for a Divorce, Monday or otherwise, I will pass on that. After 42+ years of wedded bliss, I think we will stay that way. We will pass on the meal and drink. The wine is a bit above our budget. I have been in a bit of a funk the last few days. Lots of worries in spite of my resolution to take one day at a time and make the best of each day. Tomorrow I have two appointments at the Mayo Clinic. One for blood work to see where we are with the PMR. I already know from the pain level that it is not in a good place. The other is to remove the two cancerous lesions on each leg. Our plan is to drive down tomorrow morning and get an early check-in at the hotel on campus, where I am well-known and then go to my appointments in the afternoon. Well, after we saw the weather forecast for tomorrow, we rethought the plan and figured it might be better to go today. That is, until I called the hotel. No room at the Inn tonight. So we had to scrap those plans. The weather forecast for tomorrow is horrendous. I am not looking forward to this. However, if I don’t keep this appointment, I don’t know when I will get another. I was offered this earlier appointment when someone cancelled. My original one was on Feb. 27. I am sure that one is gone now. So we plan to leave early tomorrow. About 9:30 and take it slow. It usually takes about 2 1/2 hours. I am sure tomorrow will take much longer. The hotel promises to have a room available for me for early check-in. Keeping my fingers crossed. On Wednesday we are coming back early so that I can attend a workshop on Wills and Trusts. While we just had new wills done, my Financial Advisor is urging us to look into finding out how to protect our assets. A local attorney is holding a workshop on Wednesday afternoon. So we will try to get back in time for that. We will have to make some decisions in that regard. And then at 9:30 am on Thursday, we meet with the Neurologist to go over the results of Jim’s tests and see where we go from there. So, as you can see, there is a lot on my mind. Will try to be more communicative. @rafinmdHope all goes well for you today. @smitty34877 Hope your aide is back and things are a bit better in your house. Prayers for you. Take care everyone. God Bless. Terri Terri, safe travels tomorrow, and I hope the procedure goes well and the bloodwork provides some answers for the doctor. Just a thought, but could you leave today and stay at a different hotel in Jacksonville tonight to avoid driving in bad weather. 1 hour ago, JazzyV said: Good afternoon. NO honestly…….we did not go to Hooters ……..and I have no pictures from there! Six siblings from one family live in these similar houses although exterior looks different . Different architectural designs even for newly built homes and offices The Art Deco architectural designs found in Napier where a direct result of the rebuilding of this city after the devastating earthquake hit the city on Feb 3rd 1931 and the rebuilding started right after that. Mission Winery Beautiful scenery outside of Napier Back into Port we had a nice send off . DW forgot her ID when returning to the port and she was taken into detention for a while , but was later allowed to rejoin me after a lot of questioning . ppppfffftttttt ! Lucky me ! Have a wonderful week everybody ! Tony 😄 Great pictures, Tony. Thanks 2 hours ago, VMax1700 said: Good afternoon from Cork, Currently it is 3°C/37°F but with wind chill it feels like -1°C/33°F. Overnight it was -5°C/23°F. I thought it cold until I read of @ger_77 and the -23° in frozen tundra! I just could not handle that level of cold. There was black ice on the roads this morning so chaos ensued. We (as a nation) just cannot handle freezing conditions on the road. DW went for her tests this morning and initial results are good. Her BP has returned to normal and the ECG looks good. We will hear later in the week for the official result. Next on the list was taking DS to the dentist for his checkover and any necessary work. He says that the prices here are at least 50% lower than in Vancouver. Shame he forgot to take his wallet with him 🙄. Ya just can't beat sponsored dental work 🥲 That's it from me. Hope everyone has a great day! I'm glad your DW's BP is back to normal and the ECG looks good. 2 hours ago, Vict0riann said: Good morning, Dailyites, another Monday here... It is finally raining hard, but we are threatened with wind and snow later in the week. I will be happy to just stay indoors if that happens. I had chicken for us and a piece of fish out for DD last night when she said she would go and get fish and chips from a place near where we used to live which is reputed to be the best in Victoria, so I immediately agreed, and we will have the defrosted chicken and fish today. Later this month we will compare the fish and chips with a place nearer where we are now, which claims to be the best in Victoria... Hope all goes well with Roy, and no aftereffects, except good ones! I will be having two "bumps" removed next week, which the dermatologist says are squamous cell carcinomas. One is on the back of my right hand which I seem to be continually bumping so it is sore. The other is on my left wrist, so gets in the way of my watch. I'm looking forward to getting rid of them both! I have already primed the household that I will have to keep the areas dry, so I won't be washing dishes. I wonder how long that will last! We have been to Napier, on a driving trip in NZ, I remember enjoying the Art Deco streets, but they interfered with them by shading the sidewalks. Ann, I hope the removal of the two bumps goes well next week. Great picture. 32 minutes ago, jeda4137 said: He may have developed allergies. Rare rafinmd Posted January 8 #70 Share Posted January 8 I really wasn't expecting problems today and don't expect any although I was on the table a lot longer than expected. The big question is how much good it will do and that will take some time to find out. I won't say any more for a whie as I am 40 minutes away from 3 meetings, will surely be tired when I get home, and will run my errands tomorrow early to try to stay ahead of the coming storm. Cruising-along Posted January 8 #75 Share Posted January 8 (edited) Greetings from the lovely Volendam! We’re having an amazing time, loving every minute. Meeting our fellow Dailyites and sailing again with Rich has been a big plus too. Last night we spent some time with Rich at the Island Dream party and we’ll have dinner tonight with him in the Pinnacle Grill. Tonight is the pop-up Tamarind night. 😀. If any other Dailyites would like to join us please let us know. The more the merrier 🙂🙂 I’ll put out a message on Navigator too. Tomorrow we will reach Honolulu. We have an all-day private tour and are looking forward to that. Edited January 8 by Cruising-along 24
