Stampgizmo Posted January 10 #1 Share Posted January 10 We are cruising in February on the equinox. Does anyone know if they started doing the luggage valet again? This is such a convenience. Hopefully they are thank you in advance.
sptrout Posted January 10 #2 Share Posted January 10 Not directly related, but we are on Beyond now and today's newsletter letter says that Luggage Valet will be available for certain airlines at the end of our cruise. Told to call for details soon.

39august Posted January 10 #6 Share Posted January 10 Equinox has had luggage valet for over a year now. I think it was sometime in 2022.
DingoMom Posted January 10 #7 Share Posted January 10 My DH and I have used the service many times in the past. As far as I know, it JUST opened up to the E-class ships. (They did not offer it on the Ascent last month.) I love it, because we aren’t doing the ‘terminal shuffle’ followed by the ‘airport shuffle’. It is so easy and convenient, IMHO. Not sure my wife might go for it as she likes to have the control. We used it on the Apex in December. As far as getting the bags to Southwest airlines in Ft. Lauderdale, we had no problems! I will say, our children stayed on for 1 week, and then we stayed on for a second week. We both used luggage valet. When they left after the first week, their family was "randomly" selected out of the line when they were exiting the ship, and were escorted down to the customs area. Asked a couple questions, and they were free to go. One week later, we were "randomly" selected to be escorted down to customs. They said something about making sure our bags had gone through customs, and after 2 minutes, we could go. My point is I don't think it was random, I think it had to do with luggage valet, because too coincidental that it happened to both of us. Nevertheless, it only took 10-15 minutes extra, and it was worth it not to lug our bags as our flight was in the afternoon.

We were on Solstice in Seattle in 2022 and we did not do the valet on disembarking, however from what we saw we will this time. What we saw was a very long queue for the coaches to the airport. Those who used the valet were escorted to the front of the queue with the valet and their luggage to the coach. Not sure if this is the norm or just lucky people that day. UPDATE: Y'all talking about Luggage Valet Service. I got it mixed up with the porters when we disembarked. Sorry. LeeW Posted January 12 #16 Share Posted January 12 Did Luggage Valet off of Equinox in Fort Everglades last April. No issues and did not get special customs selection. Biggest advantage is that the airport doesn't accept luggage until 4 hours before a flight.

When we did it they gave us boarding passes and on mine my name was incorrect. They also had our seat assignments wrong. I was very concerned about not being able to board due to the name issue. Went to Guest Relations and they were indifferent saying that was the way they were sent by the airlines and that there was nothing we could do. I was quite concerned and I happened to bump into the Hotel Director we had met previously. After explaining the situation to him he told us to relax, go enjoy our last dinner on the cruise, and he assured me it would be rectified. He also apologized profusely and said they would refund the fee for the aggravation. He promised me they would deliver the new paperwork as soon as they could. Well, they went above and beyond. We were sent a bottle of wine at dinner along with the paperwork as promised. There was a message on our phone just to be sure everything checked out OK. When we got the email with the final statement we found that they not only refunded the fee but several hundred dollars in addition!

FLL is definitely an airport where that service is beneficial.

One of the reasons we try to meet the senior officers if we have an opportunity, just in case and to let them know how the service is/has been very much including if all is going well or if there have been any major hiccups.

I’d rather have the day to explore the area before having to go to the airport. FLL is my least favourite airport and the less time I spend there the better. 🤷🏼♀️
