Helicopter to Montserrat Volcano - Anyone done this?

Just wondering if anyone here has done the helicopter to Montserrat from St Johns, Antigua? If so did you do it through the cruise or did you find a private company?

This was a ship excursion but thought the photos might help you make up your mind.

The flight was a P&O excursion and it was fantastic. 6 passengers, 1 gets to be co pilot.

 

Worth every penny!

Wow! Those are amazing photo's of the volcano.

I'd love to do that, but could just imagine my kids freezing out at being so close to that.

I just did this excursion last week in Antigua, WELL WORTH IT!!!!! It was the highlight of my trip. Take a camcorder and digital, had one in each hand the whole time. Was even better when I was able to sit in the front with the pilot. WOW!

Did you do the tour through the cruise ship or on your own? If it was with the cruise ship what cruise ship did you sail on?

I booked it through the ship, was on the Serenade. I tried booking on my own and emailed the company directly, they asked how I would be coming in, I told them on the ship, they replied and said I had to book it through the ship. It's $50 more to book through RCCL then just book on your own. They pick you up on the dock and drive you there, very short ride it's not far from the ship at all. Totally worth the $250 in my opinion and ask to sit in the front with the pilot!
