cariadfach Posted February 10 #1 Share Posted February 10 My wife and I have done lot of cruises over the last 10 years and my wife has brought along a mobility scooter and we usually have a disabled cabin depending on which ship we are on ,as I am getting older and more arthritic I can see a time when I will need a scooter too so, my question is will the cruise lines allow two vehicles in the one cabin ? Do different lines have different policies ?
FOPMan Posted February 11 #2 Share Posted February 11 I have never seen a published limit. It might be a little challenging fitting two scooters into the same cabin and have tje ability to turn them around for exit.
laginog Posted February 11 #3 Share Posted February 11 Royal Caribbean does. We have had 2 scooters in our cabins for several years now. We usual have them remove the glass coffee table. I’m sorry, but I don’t know the policies on other lines. We have cruised on Royal only, for the last 10+ years.
cariadfach Posted February 11 Author #4 Share Posted February 11 With the options of having folding scooters space is not such a problem ,I was thinking that if there is an emergency evacuation that by some maritime regulations they would require one occupant to be fit enough to help the disabled one. I e mailed P &O last week but not had a reply so far.
cariadfach Posted February 11 Author #5 Share Posted February 11 It’s encouraging to know that RC allow it ,I hope the other lines do too.

suramom Posted April 4 #9 Share Posted April 4 on Princess accessible cabin we got two in the cabin but difficult to maneuver in and out.
catwoman6226 Posted April 21 #10 Share Posted April 21 My friend and I both require scooters and we've never had an issue on Princess, in an accessible cabin. Plenty of room to park the scooters and still have room to navigate around the cabin.
gadaboutgal Posted April 27 #11 Share Posted April 27 I've found that storing the scooter in the not-in-use shower area of the bathroom can free the cabin space. Cabin 10236 on MSC Seashore was the smallest hcp cabin I have ever been in!

However, with the weight of the scooters, it was difficult to travel by air. We finally sold the last one and purchased a foldable electric wheelchair that also weighs 55 lb. (Falcon Recliner) and wish I purchased it many years ago. So much more maneuverable, especially when using public restrooms. Also, it allows for more tours that don’t allow scooters on tour buses. cruisinagain1960 Posted June 5 #14 Share Posted June 5 We've been cruising with 2 scooters since before COVID - some handicapped cabins will not accommodate 2 scooters, but the vast majority do. i suggest when you book that you use a resource like cruisedeckplans to see if there are pictures or videos about the cabin you want to book. If there isn't, check other decks to see if there's a similar (inside to inside) cabin that might have pics or videos. Bottom line answer to your question, we have never had a cruiseline flat out refuse to let us use the cabin we've booked - we did have to go to customer service once and ask for a different cabin because the one I booked would not have worked at all. Luckily, they had a cabin available and just switched us.
cruisinagain1960 Posted June 5 #15 Share Posted June 5 And as a further note, sometimes you just have to be creative about how you park in the cabin. Sometimes it takes us a couple of go's to determine the easiest way to park so that either of us can get out of the cabin if we want (I'm typically an early riser and like to go explore the ship when it's quiet, while my cabin mate is somewhat of a night owl and wakes up a little later).
