shysue22 Posted April 25 #1 Share Posted April 25 Any recommendations for transfer from the FCO airport to the cruise port in Civitavecchia? I did a search and can't find much info on this topic. Thanks!
CruiserBruce Posted April 25 #2 Share Posted April 25 There are many threads on the topic...many recommendations, like Rome in Limo, Rome Cabs, etc. All those threads saying Rome to the port, or the port to Rome, or the port to FCO all have vender recommendations. Plus, if you can manage your bags, there is the option of the train. However, it is definitely not recommended to arrive the day of sailing. Rome is one of the most amazing cities in the world. Ease your jetlag and see one of the best cities in the world.
BethesdaSC Posted May 1 #3 Share Posted May 1 Opposite direction, port to FCO, we used Leader Car Service. Communicated thru WhatsApp and our driver was early and efficient. Used the toll road and the drive was maybe 40 minutes. Going to the port, we took the train, had carry on size only and book bags. Our AirBnB was walking distance to Termini and we had booked the intercity train pretty early, when the schedule opened; 29 euros for 2 first class tix. As an aside, try to pack with carry on only, even if you’re not using public transportation. Wear things 2-3 times, rinse if need be; you’ll be so much happier!
shysue22 Posted May 2 Author #4 Share Posted May 2 Thanks for the replies. There are many threads on these three options: FCO to Rome, Rome to Civitavecchia, and Civitavecchia to FCO. My problem was not finding much on FCO to Civitavecchia. I finally found a couple of limo/private transfer services, but they were extremely expensive, like in the $180 range. We are considering just going from FCO to Rome City Centre and staying a couple of days. We've been to Rome a couple of times and have seen a lot of the sites, but there are a couple we haven't seen yet, like the Colosseum underground tour. We do love Rome as it is a most fascinating city! So, we're kicking around the idea of just seeing some more of Rome. Our cruise doesn't happen until April of 2025 so we have plenty of time to think about it. :^)
