Noordam VH class balcony - #4001

I was able to book the 10-day med cruise on Noordam in June for an unheard of $2k per person in a VH class balcony on the Upper Promenade deck - cabin 4001. This is the very last cabin forward on the starboard side, and the deck layout indicates a slightly smaller verandah. Anyone have any experience with this class or cabin, it is over $1000 less than the same size room but higher class VF, VE, etc. Is the smaller verandah the reason or could it be proximity to public areas, noise, maintenance, etc.?

Doubt that it has anything to do with proximity to public areas---since there is no proximity to public areas there! You are one long-haul from everything in that spot.

Isn't that a veranda set in the bulkhead?

Yes, the smaller verandah and the steel railing is exactly why the price is so low.

We could see this cabin's veranda on our transcanal cruise.

BUT--if the balcony is not that important to you on a very port intensive cruise, and this is a way for you to see the Med when you normally could not afford to, and if you normally are happy with an oceanview then it makes sense to book it.

If you are used to sitting on your veranda watching the world go by don't book it, you'll be disappointed.

what you're saying is you could see it from another ship or were you on the ship and looking down into it?

 

We like the Verandah mainly to stand outside and get a view of the world, watch the sea, etc. We don't sit in the furniture usually or eat out there...
