Jthomasou Posted June 2 #1 Share Posted June 2 My wife and I are taking our 9 year old on a cruise to the Eastern Caribbean (St Thomas, St Maarten, San Juan, Amber Cove). We are looking for the best place to take her snorkeling off the beach and not so much in the ocean like most of the excursions take you. In Cozumel, we went to a resort like place that had a buffet, and a ropes course, and a long dock where you could get into the water and snorkel. She really liked that because she could kind of keep a hand on the dock to feel safe? Are there any recommendations for somewhere like that amongst our stops? Ms411 Posted June 2 #2 Share Posted June 2 (edited) Not on St Thomas. No resorts for cruisers that offer buffet and no ropes course. There's an in the water platform at Secret Harbor Beach Resort, and that beach is protected with good snorkeling. Water is calm most of the time. Restaurant and chair rentals for cruisers, but limited number of chairs. Coki Beach is very popular with kids, because unfortunately the vendors sell dog biscuits so you can feed the fish. Loud music often plays. Chair rentals, food stalls, and restrooms. The kayak snorkeling excursion by VI Ecotours is very popular with kids because it's in a mangrove lagoon and water is not that deep. The excursion provides mandatory life jackets. The excursion provides information about the environment and the sea life during the tour. Edited June 2 by Ms411
