DShier1a Posted June 4 #1 Share Posted June 4 I booked with the cruise consultant assigned to me to get the obc they offered if I book with 60 days of returning from our cruise. I then asked to transfer to my travel agent. I got a snarky voicemail from the cruise consultant then a second voicemail saying she had booked it in US dollars ( I am in Canada) I emailed the cancelation email from the website but they say I have to go through the consultant. I don't feel I have done anything wrong and I don't want to put up with the consultants attitude. Perhaps I am in the wrong. Any idea on the options I might have. Rare Mary229 Posted June 5 #2 Share Posted June 5 If it is with it 60 days of booking and prior to final payment you can transfer it to a TA if you have one. There is a form for that. Otherwise put up with the consultant one more time and cancel.
Rare SUESEABE Posted June 5 #3 Share Posted June 5 Reservation Transfer Request Form.pdf This is the transfer form if it is within 60 days of booking. If you still want to cancel, use the chat feature on website. I used chat to cancel a cruise. The entire process took about 10 minutes and immediately received email confirmation. You may also request transcript of chat conversation at the end of dialogue.

If it's booked in the wrong currency, you should be able to cancel it with anyone who answers the phone. That's an error on the PCC's part. It can't be changed from USD to CAD after the fact. If you booked a refundable deposit, like the Have It All or Advantage fares, the booking can be canceled easily. If you booked a non-refundable fare or if you put cruise protection on the booking, you will need someone to remove the penalties. That would require a resolution specialist or supervisor to make those adjustments. Once you are clear of that, just go to the TA of your choice and book.

I second using the chat feature - I used it recently to cancel and was super-easy with quick email confirmation. With regards to booking onboard being a Canadian - on our first HAL cruise we bought FCD's and were given US based FCD's (we had no idea how it worked). We are just gonna let those expire and have since only purchased Can$ FCD's (had to make a point to be sure it was correct) (as I expect you may have noticed we Canucks do a little better on exchange rate booking in Can$ with HAL) Edited June 5 by rodndonna
