jcool Posted June 8 #1 Share Posted June 8 When I booked, I have 50 points. If I take a 5 Day cruise does that make me Emerald on that cruise?
time4u2go Posted June 8 #2 Share Posted June 8 You advance to the next level after completion of the cruise on which you earn the points. 1
LadyZolt Posted June 8 #3 Share Posted June 8 As Time4utogo said, you won't see the points added to your account until the cruise is over. I think you will usually see the change within a week of the end of the cruise. Sometimes sooner. 1
leaveitallbehind Posted June 8 #4 Share Posted June 8 (edited) This is a rather common question. If you think about it, just about everybody reaches their next tier on a given cruise at some point in the cruise. It likely is rare otherwise. Just to echo the above responses, the tier levels are achieved by the total points earned and accrued on a given cruise and next tier advancement is recognized on the subsequent cruise from that on which they were earned. The only RCCL C & A exception is Pinnacle, which is recognized on the cruise on which it is reached. Edited June 8 by leaveitallbehind

While we knew that we would receive points for the entire trip (both ship and land nights), we weren't sure the logistics of how/when they would be credited...all at once or piece by piece. What we experienced was within a couple days of concluding the 7-night sailing portion of our cruisetour, the points for that portion were credited. Then once we concluded the post-cruise land portion, those points were credited. Mystery solved...and just like that we are now D+. A Pin corrected me (clarified 😁) on a previous post when I said something to that effect. While they are recognized on that cruise, they apparently don't actually get the P benefits until the next cruise.
broadwaybaby123 Posted June 9 #8 Share Posted June 9 (edited) You'd be Emerald on your next cruise after the 5 point cruise since the points aren't added until after your cruise. For example, I need 15 points to reach Diamond. I have a cruise coming up that will shorten that to 5 points. Had my next cruise after that not been with Celebrity (where I'll move to Elite), my cruise after that (worth 7 points and will be in November 2025) would move me up to Diamond for any 2026 cruises, even though I met the threshold in 2025. However, thanks to the reciprocal status with Celebrity, my next cruise after this (January 2025, worth 30 points) would move me to Diamond for the November 2025 cruise. firefly333 Posted June 9 #9 Share Posted June 9 (edited) You get 1 pt regular, sharing a double cabin. A solo in a double cabin gets 2 pts per night. A solo in a JS or above gets 3 pts per night. So you could get as many as 15 pts solo inna suite on a 5 day cruise., Edited June 9 by firefly333

True, new Pinnacles are recognized at the Top Tier party while on the cruise that gets them to 700 points, but even with Pinnacle, the on board benefits start on the next cruise.😇

pghflyer Posted July 13 #16 Share Posted July 13 Just as a point for others, I returned from Vision a week ago today, and my points for my JS still have not posted. No big deal but kind of surprised how long it takes........

Then I would call Crown & Anchor to have them confirm their posting. The longest ours ever took to post was about 10 days, and usually within a week of the end of the cruise. If it is showing in your history it should also be posted in the point total by now. Just to be sure you have it the number is 800-526-9723. smokeybandit Posted August 4 #20 Share Posted August 4 4 hours ago, pghflyer said: Still waiting....we got back on July 6th and while the cruise shows in our history, the points still haven't been added.............. So, by chance, when you log into your account, do you see your formal first name (which you'd use on your reservation) shown at the top of the screen? Or a nickname (ie, William vs. Bill). And in your cruise history, does that "missing" cruise show "reservation ID" where as the rest show the "points earned"? My points didn't post after a June cruise. Some experimentation with my TA on a newly booked cruise, and realized that RC created me a new C&A number. Apparently the system now had me by my common first name (which showed in my account) but my reservation of course had my formal first name. I wonder if during that password change fiasco in the spring that they mucked stuff up with first names. I called C&A and they did confirm I had two numbers. They put in a ticket to merge them with a 17 day turnaround. It'll be 17 days come end of next week, so I'll be curious if it gets fixed.

If your C&A account number is linked to your significant other, and they are flagged by RCL's system as the primary member, check their account to see if the points have been added there. Happens all the time with DW's account - my account updates but hers doesn't unless she goes into her profile, deletes her C&A number and then re-adds it.

My wife and I each have our own C &C A number and when we cruise both are entered on the booking. They were set up together with our first cruise and are linked. Points are assigned to each account simultaneously. Edited August 4 by leaveitallbehind
pghflyer Posted August 4 #24 Share Posted August 4 Thanks everyone for the tips!! We have always had separate unlinked accounts and always had our points post in days and everything was normal on the cruise. As of yesterday, nothing had posted and still showing in "past cruises", but as of this morning all of our "past cruises" are now empty (points still not posted). So, I shot them an email and will see what they find. Definitely not much value in Emerald anyhow but we are already looking for affordable 11+ night JS sailings so we can get to that critical Diamond level!! When DW retired, she decided to officially change her last name from the last name that she was known for throughout her professional career to her married name, and that's when the problems started. RCL has not been able to fix her account even after years of asking them to do so. BTW, I had no idea how to do this kind of update until someone on CC posted about their identical issues, so apparently it is not all that an uncommon problem.
