Wishing on a star Posted June 15 #101 Share Posted June 15 Sounds like you had a great cruise... except for COVID of course... and some of the food. Are you the one who said that The Catch was not good??? Ouch... That is a full upcharge. If we do board the Enchanted soon, when looking at your photos, I hope they have a better Executive Chef and staff onboard... On our last cruise, (different ship) I have to say that most of the food was really good! Everything was top-notch by Princess standards.

OBC paid for him. 14 minutes ago, Wishing on a star said: hope they have a better Executive Chef and staff onboard... I said the same in the survey. What's with all the beans????? beshears Posted June 17 #103 Share Posted June 17 I just found your posting here, and our group of 7 or 8 have never cruised the Enchanted Princess or even done a 10 day cruise, only 7 before, so this should be interesting. So I'm hoping I will get some info on this ship and pass it on to the others that are to be with me.
beshears Posted June 17 #104 Share Posted June 17 As I mentioned earlier, the Enchanted ship is new to us, that is if we decided to do it next year, and that is why I am reading your review with the good pictures too, to let the other 6 or 7 know about this ship too. It was good reading about some of the ports that you visited as I had already done them before, but good to revisit them once again with you doing it.
beshears Posted June 17 #105 Share Posted June 17 I love seeing the different towel animals, as I got used to having them on the Carnival ships that I cruised on. If we do this ship, I will look forward to seeing them once again.

Only saw them when we used to sail Carnival.

I am assuming they are very busy and have no time for this.... But Enchanted had a demo last year and a demo this year, and it's still fun.
Rare BamaVol Posted June 17 #109 Share Posted June 17 Day 2 on Enchanted and not only no towel animals, but still haven’t met our cabin steward. Yesterday was my son in laws birthday. He was hoping for a towel cake, but got none. He did get a special greeting on the screens by the elevators.

Finally met him about 30 minutes ago as we were taking my granddaughter up for breakfast. Not looking for towel animals. And he has been diligent about taking care of the cabin while we were out. We were just never in the same place at the same time. However we did meet my daughter’s steward the minute we arrived. Across the hall but different fellow.

I totally forgot Take 5 even existed until I started doing my review and got to the entertainment section and thought to myself - hmmm, JamieLogical mentioned it quite a bit.... unfortunately, my kid has refused to participate in kid's club since he started sailing at 3. He tried teen's club on X in April for about 20 minutes and noped out of there, lol. Just doesn't care for strangers. Same re: kid refusing kid's club. Hoping for a miracle this time! I'm playing up the private hot tub and unlimited skee ball.

It's an invite only for suite passengers that is offsite. When the shuttle arrives at the port, the guests are escorted straight through. You are correct that the GoPrincess invitees do get escorted passage through the embarkation process. We have been fortunate to do this three times and the reason we were allowed to just walk through is that all the steps needed to board was done offsite except for going through the metal detector and carry-on scanning process. It would appear that the only Platinum/Elite benefit is the special lounge and the priority to board once that is available.

You will be very impressed with the attention to detail and the services they provide. I believe Anthony will be on vacation next week aboard the Sun Princess, but Edwina will be there and she is terrific. We will there at the end of July when we board the Enchanted Princess and look forward to seeing them then. The building the is used for GoPrincess was originally the site of the development of the Medallion and the app. It's a short distance from the port and you'll be driven over in a beautiful van right to the door of the terminal. Your luggage will be handled for you and you'll be escorted in and all the way to the ramp to the ship. Use the folks in the GoPrincess lounge to take care of any dining, tour, check-in and any other concierge services they can provide. They will have lots of coffee, juices, fruits, pastries and snacks for you to enjoy until it's time to board the ship. Say hello to them from us and enjoy the experience. beshears Posted June 20 #116 Share Posted June 20 What is the GoPrincess Lounge for? Is that something extra to SAVE a few steps when you first get on the ship? We put ALL of our information on line ahead of time, so we don't have to go through a lot of hoops when we arrive on the ship.

Not all get invited from what I am reading so not sure hoe suite guests are selected.

We put ALL of our information on line ahead of time, so we don't have to go through a lot of hoops when we arrive on the ship. It's an invite only lounge in Ft Lauderdale for suite passengers for a quieter place to wait to board the ship. The lounge isn't even at the port, but at a nearby office building. When you get there, they take your checked luggage and send it ahead. The concierge there will assist in getting any reservations (dining/spa/Sanctuary) you need made. What's supposed to happen is they contact the ship concierge, who makes the reservations with the appropriate department, and sends back the confirmation. There have been reports of it not being done (the concierge not knowing that Sanctuary needs to be done ASAP and can't wait until the end of the day and go up with the list), so I guess YMMV. Once boarding has started, you are put on a Mercedes Sprinter van and brought to the port, where you will go with a port worker who escorts you to the front of the security line, and then to the gangway.

Saw our cabin attendant every day/morning. Always smiling and personable. Great ship and crew. Glad you had a great experience aboard the XP. We were on her end of April and early May and had a great experience with our cabin steward, Eddie, who did interesting towel art during our voyage. Every cruise involves taking our "dog", Walter the Farting Dog with us. Walter is actually a toy doll that was the character in the series of adult/children books about his travel experiences. Walter had a built in farter that actually died and I tried to perform a fartectomy that didn't take so I stitched him up and he goes with us everywhere. Eddie would make other animal characters to be with Walter to keep him company when we were off the ship. Our voyage tomorrow aboard the XP will be the 60th with Princess and Walter aboard. Yes, he is Elite.
