How much time to allow for sp restaurants?- particularly Ocean Blue

  I have our times reserved for sp restaurants on Bliss, at 5:30--- So we will go to the later 9:30 shows----  There is one night where I believe a comedy show will be in main theater at 7:30----  I think it will be on the night that we have Ocean Blue scheduled.  Not a deal breaker, and I refuse to rush through that dinner---  But if we happen to be finished by 6:30-6:45- then great.  If not, oh well. So I was just wondering, what is a realistic time to be finished with dinner. (We will be on the Bliss, if that makes a difference)  .

Tell your server and/or the maitre d at the restaurant that you need to go fast due to the show. They will do their best to adjust to that. otherwise, I'd say allow 90 minutes to 2 hours for a full meal.

For a party of 2 - 4 90 minutes is about right. Larger parties will take 2 hours +.

We ate in Ocean Blue on the Joy a few weeks ago and for 2 people, we were easily finished in under 90 minutes. No rushing at all. But it will depend on the number of diners in the restaurant that evening, how fast the kitchen is moving, etc. But you should be fine to catch the show.

We tell our server when we want to be done. A relaxing dinner is 2 hours. You can easily eat in 1 hour. The only restaurant with inflexible times is teppanyaki. Zero need to involve the maitre d

This is an excellent point. When it is just two of us, we can easily be done in 90 minutes or less. When we traveled with family and had a party of 5 people, at least two hours was required.

Telling them you do not want dessert up front should save at least 10 minutes or so alone.

We have found it a good practice to communicate your desire with your server every time. On one occasion, when we were looking for leisurely dinner,  we had courses served way too fast, plates being removed before we'd finished, etc. We could have been out of there in 30-minutes if we ate as fast as the server wanted us to.

 

On the other hand, one time everything was on track, timing was great, going to hit the show just right -- but then we couldn't get dessert to save our lives.

 

Talk to your server. They will do everything they can to give you what you want.
