Regal Princess 12 Day British Isles -- Weather/Temperature on the Ship

Recommended Posts

We're leaving on 7/26 and realize that it might be cool on the excursions in the British Isles.

What should we expect weather wise in July?

How cool is it on the ship both indoors and outdoors?

@Lambkin18 welcome to your first cruise critic post.

you may use any weather web page/app to find a 10 day forecast.

If you or your traveling partner gets cold in a land based restaurant because of the air conditioning -my suggestion would be bring a light sweater, sport coat, or a light wrap. Sometimes the public spaces can get cool and of course just the opposite they can get warm.

Just watched the Scottish Open golf tournament this weekend. It was held just east of Edinburgh. Yesterday they had on long sleeved jackets but no stocking caps. Today they were in typical short sleeved golf shirts.
Plan for the weather to change! 😉

Typically the weather will be low to mid 20's Celsius in the south and mid to high teens further north but we have had an unusually large amount of rain so far in July so be prepared to get wet.

We were on Regal for a British Isles cruise 7/19 2023.  We had amazing weather for the British Isles (and we were lucky).

The three days that we spent in London pre-cruise were sunny and warm (shorts and polo shirts).  We only had one 5 minute sun shower on our third day.

When we went on our excursions, we dressed in layers.  We carried a bag with a hoodie and a wind-breaker.  The only other rain that we had was the morning of our excursion to Giants Causeway.  Most of the days started out cloudy, then cleared up, then got cloudy again.

There were a couple of extremely windy days up on the Lido deck.  There were two days that the Retreat pool could not be used because of the strong wind.

(Watching Wimbledon this year, it is obvious that it has been raining a lot more than last year.)
