donaldsc Posted July 17 #1 Share Posted July 17 We are going to be in Morocco for 3 days off a cruise. We stop at Casablanca, Siri and Agadar. When we do something off the ship it will probably on a tour. I don't see myself buying much if anything there. I really do not want to buy Moroccan currency at my local exchange even assuming I could get it there. Do I really need to buy some Dirhams. If I do buy anything could I use dollars or Euros. I know that I might get screwed on the exchange rate but I will spending such a small amount there that it really will not make a difference. Would real restaurants or real shops accept Euros, dollars or even credit cards. DON

Catchum Posted August 8 #3 Share Posted August 8 Why not get a little local money from an Atm in Morocco? when we were in there euros were OK in most places until my DH decided he wanted some nuts from a street food stall, a lovely lady saw the problem and bought them for us we gave her lots of euros in exchange. Using foreign money is part of the fun of travelling.
Zach1213 Posted September 4 #4 Share Posted September 4 I go to Morocco quite a bit. Euros can sometimes be taken. But just get some Dirham from an ATM. You're there for three days...you'll probably need at least a little, there are still a lot of places (even in big cities) that are cash only. Absolutely don't use a currency exchange, that's never very beneficial.
Goldconnection Posted September 7 #5 Share Posted September 7 We visited Morocco a few years ago. We used US dollars with no problems every where we shopped.
