Rare stevenr597 Posted July 30 #1 Share Posted July 30 We will be cruising on Sun Princess this coming March and have booked a Mini-Suite, Sanctuary Class. We tend to avoid the buffet whenever possible, and we are wondering what restaurants will be open for lunch on boarding day. How do they compare to the buffet? Thanks for the information. Thrak Posted July 30 #2 Share Posted July 30 (edited) One main dining room will be open for lunch until about 1:30. The crew will try to steer you to the buffet but there is always one dining room serving embarkation day lunch. Alfredo's should be open for a fee - unless you are booked with Plus of Premier. I don't know about O'Malleys, Kai Sushi, etc. having never sailed this ship. We like the main dining room lunch on embarkation day. If O'malleys is open - we are headed there, then Alfredos, then maybe a lido something - We have the Catch booked embarkation night - so a light 'anything' is in order anyway Glad to hear you are safe for now - hoping the wind doesn't shift ... wow
Rare Leo37 Posted July 30 #4 Share Posted July 30 Yes the main Dining Room will be open for a relaxed first day lunch. We did that when we boarded about three weeks ago. If you are Sanctuary Class, you'll have your own restaurant almost certainly open as well.

With Sanctuary Class, you will have access to the equivalent of the Reserve dining room (currently speculation that this will be moving to Deck 8 aft as part of the Sanctuary Class dining re-shuffle but not yet confirmed by Princess). When we boarded in April, the Reserve and Signature dining rooms were open on embarkation day from 11:30am to 1:30pm. Here's a link to CanadianBurger's Reserve Embarkation lunch menu post - may change by next March though! There will also be casual dining options such as Alfredo's Pizzeria and complimentary open deck dining on the Lido and outside on the Promenade deck.(plus The Eatery of course). RiverboatRon Posted August 3 #6 Share Posted August 3 When I booked a Sun Princess Reserve mini-suite in March, I received a welcome glass of sparkling wine in the Reserve dining room during embarkation lunch.
arizonaperson Posted August 3 #7 Share Posted August 3 (edited) @stevenr597 I would think Horizons DR would be open on embarkation day for lunch. Maybe also All American?? Since your cruise is Mach 2025, lots of time to figure out. Changes can always occur. Check in February with someone doing a Live from, perhaps they will mention it.
