looking at cruise from sydney next year, driving up north from tassie and looking at a cruise on our way back any advise on parking or even parking away from sydney and catching train, thanks martin

The long-term car parking facilities at the airport are quite reasonable,  especially when booked in advance.

The car parking companies have complimentary shuttles to the airport terminals. From there, take the airport train to Circular Quay (for a cruise departing from the Overseas Passenger Terminal).

Another option is to take an Uber/Didi directly from the car park (or the airport).

A couple of options at Mascot. It is also possible to free park at a suburban rail station out of Sydney, although with limited security.

 

Another option is to drive to the cruise terminal and hand over your car to Cruise Control, where they will valet it away to their garage and bring it back for when you disembark. Pretty ordinary web site (red text = ouch), but they are good guys.

Wilson Parking has car parks within walking distance of the cruise terminal, and offers rates for people going on cruises.

Some people I know use blue emu at the airport, I don’t know how cheap they are.

Someone else I know just use a commuter car park at an outer suburban train station. Park the car in a free parking spot and catch the train.
