Royal Caribbean Exclusive Top Tier Event

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

I recently went on Freedom of the Seas (August 2024) and Wonder of the Seas (June 2024), and the Exclusive Top Tier Event on these 5+ night sailings were in the morning. On my previous Royal cruises these events were in the afternoon or evening. I felt like Royal Caribbean doesn’t care about loyalty members anymore and it is trying to save money knowing that a lot of people will not show up or if they do they will not drink in the morning during the event. Is this happening in all of the Royal Caribbean ships? Is this temporary? What is the point of having Member benefits if we can not use them because Royal is making it difficult to get?

Unlikely. The timing of the event is likely a convenient time for the staff,  not to try to somehow diminish your perks.

There’s no alcohol provided at the top-tier event any longer, at least not the last five or six that I have been to.

What loyalty member benefits is royal making it difficult to get? I just don’t understand this statement at all.

That hasn't been our experience, there has always been alcohol served at the top tier event, even since they have been scheduled late morning.

Mimosas were served when I went, maybe also plain cheap champagne but I usually dont try it, not my thing. I've had quite a few in the morning and didnt feel diminished. At the dive pool.

It's a funny thing about Royal isn't it.

Harmony in July, Adventure in May, Odyssey in February; none had alcohol at the top tier event.

I was also on the Freedom in August 2024 ... and I went to the morning top tier event ... and alcohol (champagne) was served.

Is there more than one ship called Freedom?

Adventure 8-night this August had the top-tier event late morning with Champagne, Mimosa and Bloody Mary's. At least I think they were. It was a red drink.

The Mimosa paired well with the coffee I brought into the event. 😇

The red drink is punch. A non alcoholic drink for those who dont want alcohol. I've had it. It's not a bloody Mary for sure free.

Brilliance in January

Ovation in January

Spectrum in February

Oasis in April

Anthem in June

… all served cheap bubbles at the top tier event. I always have the non alcoholic punch which is very nice

OP..  On Adventure they had the event in Studio B and put on a special ice show for us. On O class it has been in the Aqua Theater and they have put on special dive shows for us. I don't know how you can say RCI doesn't care about us.

I rather like having the event earlier in the day. There are plenty of other things going on around the ship in the evening.

Same last month. The event was in the morning of the first sea day. The mimosas were a sign that it was ok to start on alcoholic drinks.

Obviously I need to be paying closer attention

When we asked about the red drink the servers said it’s fruit punch…..we don’t drink at the top tier either.

Yes I said above it was punch and that I'd had it... many many times as I rarely drink alcohol.

I said the red was punch, you post to me red fruit punch. Ok whatever.

The only member benefit that apparently is in question is whether or not alcohol is being consistently served at top tier events, an event that is a rather brief singular occurrence on any given cruise.  This somehow translates to a cost cutting lack of caring for their loyal members?  What about all of the other tier level benefits associated with the C&A program?  The potential lack of a couple of free drinks overshadows all of that, I guess. Possibly missing a free drink or two just doesn't seem to rank that high with me in terms importance with the program.  JMO.

No, apparently the OP thinks that RCI intentionally moved the event to the morning (vs afternoon/night) knowing fewer folks will show up and drink in the morning, not whether alcohol is served at the event.

I enjoy the morning Top Tier Event. I like listening to the Captain, enjoying a few cheap champagnes before heading to the casino for my Prime drinks. Great way to start the day! Save my D+ vouchers for lunch & dinner drinks. 😉

Granted I haven't sailed since February on Adventure but there were mimosas being served as you arrived and a table full of them to help yourself from if a waiter wasn't handy.

I actually prefer the morning top tier event.  On a sea day, in the afternoon, I've got things I'd rather be doing than that.  In the morning is nice time for me... I've finished breakfast, I'm just starting to get wound up for the day, and a little Q & A is good way to get the day rolling.  🙂
