We fly to LA tomorrow and board Crystal Serenity on Tuesday. Although Keith's & Anne Marie's adventure concludes a few hours before we board, I hope to continue with our observations (and daily Reflections and menu posts) as we cruise toward NYC. 18 days with only 6 scheduled port stops; we love those relaxing days at sea. Stay tuned... Rob & Jim 17

Rare ryndam Posted August 26 Author #15 Share Posted August 26 Lovely sunny Southern California weather today. We hiked up the hills to the Korean friendship bell, a gift from South Korea to the USA in honor of the bicentennial in 1976. The view of the Pacific Ocean and the harbor are impressive from the park. We took the seaside walk by the beach on the way back. A huge Maersk container ship was docked along the way. Today, one of RCCL’s Goliath-of-the-Seas was in port. Tomorrow it will only be Serenity at the passenger terminal. Rob
PaulaJK Posted August 26 #16 Share Posted August 26 The Maersk container ship is on exhibit in the harbor thru Wednesday…heralding its state of the art technology and its 16 k container capacity. Of course it dwarfs RCCL’s Navigator of the Seas which is about to sail on a four night voyage. Lots of interesting sights in this harbor. Looking forward to boarding tomorrow.
