Our good friends at American Airlines changed our return flight and pushed us to a 6:45PM departure. We expect to only have 1 carry on bag with us. Any suggestions for us as to how to kill appx 4 hours?

Assuming disembarking San Pedro and then flying from LAX? There are a ton of possible port/airport combos here so confirming which one would help folks give you a suggestion.

If it is the above, personally I would take a car to Santa Monica for lunch somewhere nice with a little walk around and then a quick Uber to the airport.

Or, rather than a cruise line excursion, try Sunseeker Tours--they do LA tours with pick-up at the ship and drop off at LAX.

Also, with a 6:45 flight, you likely have a bit more than four hours to kill.  AA will tell you to get to LAX 3 hours prior...but two hours is likely more than enough.  The Santa Monica idea is not bad...You could have your car service drop you off at the Third Street Promenade (one end or the other), walk around there, down to the Santa Monica Pier, along Palisades Park...maybe an intermediate Uber or bus trip down to the Venice Boardwalk...Lots of restaurants in all of those areas...not too bad if you only have small rolling carry-ons...

And even if they have bigger bags-- for the price of a drink or lunch (and a nice tip to the bellman) places like the Fairmont, Shutters on the Beach, Casa del Mar, The Georgian, Loews (I guess now called the Regent), etc all right there would be more than happy to check their bags for a few hours.
