ChuckLL Posted June 18, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 18, 2004 It seems our "genes problem" has been solved. My wife received her newly issued birth certificate yesterday. I suppose she is now officially recognized as being born. Thanks again to everyone who offered tips and suggestions in my previous thread on the subject. Rare dickinson Posted June 18, 2004 #4 Share Posted June 18, 2004 I must have missed something. How did she get her birth certificate? ChuckLL Posted June 19, 2004 Author #7 Share Posted June 19, 2004
quote:
Originally posted by dickinson: I must have missed something. By the time I had orginally posted on the subject here, we had already had a search done by the Vital Records office. No certificate was found. We then collected every piece of evidence that we could gather that showed that she was alive: old school records, an old divorce decree, marriage license, etc. All of that was turned over to a friend in the local Clerk of Court's office. Apparently, they used all of that info to get the state to issue my wife a birth certificate. That's all I really know.
Vicar Posted June 19, 2004 #8 Share Posted June 19, 2004 Glad everything worked out for you. I know what you must have been going through. My mom and her sisters were going to europe a few years ago and when one of my aunts went to the Hall of Records there was no record of her being born either. After months of going back and forth with this it was finally discovered that it was some misprint on the original birth certificate that prevented the record from coming up on the computer and it was finally cleared up in enough time for her to make her trip, but it was just ridiculous what she had to go through. Glad everything worked out and have a great trip
