Bad boarding passes for this Saturday cruise on the Konigsdam...

The actual thread for this cruise has very little participation so I m posting it here in hopes more people will see this.

We printed off our boarding passes almost 2 weeks ago.  I just got an email saying that they have had computer problems & that those were no good.

They looked fine but were missing an important bar code. That would be very disruptive to the actual boarding process.

I just logged into the Holland site & was able to get the corrected boarding passes.

The bar codes have not typically appeared until the last 5 or 7 days prior to boarding. Sometimes 10-12 days.

our original email was that the boarding passes were ready ( about 12 days ago) so we printed them off.

Now, just 3 days before the cruise, we are notified they were incorrect.

Was the only thing incorrect with the boarding passes is that the bar code was missing?

Luggage tags OK?

Luggage tags were fine.

Message says our boarding might be delayed if we use the original boarding passes.

HAL usually has an agent available / stationed near the terminal entrance (or just inside) to print boarding passes for passengers who may need a printed boarding pass.  If a passenger's boarding pass doesn't work at the check-in station, a boarding pass can always be printed there.

Hopefully, passengers will reprint their boarding passes at home like you did to prevent embarkation delays or slowdowns.

The problem, as I understand it, was that the bar codes were missing from entire sailings. A handful of people needing to have their boarding pass printed isn't a big deal. However, if it's everyone, that would be a mess.

The little handheld printers they use for boarding passes at the port are not super speedy, nor do they have big rolls of paper.

We got the notice docs were ready 12 days before the cruise. I use desk top computer at home and printed them out but no bar code. Next day I went on the HAL app on my phone and they were there with bar code so emailed them to myself and printed them with the bar code, I got an email this morning about the bar code and we leave in 3 days. It sounds like it could get busy at the terminal.

I also received an email from HAL notifying us the boarding passes were incorrect and needed to be reprinted. So, even though ours have barcodes, I printed new ones, JIC.

We do take screenshots of the Nav App boarding pass, but at times we've been asked for the printed ones, so we print them to cover our bases.

We leave this Sat from Seattle on the Eurodam.

FWIW, the email was not the "boarding passes are ready..." email - it said due to a glitch, boarding passes were incorrect and needed to be reprinted. I haven't seen this one before.

I got the same email oday for our Zaandam cruise on Monday. What was even stranger, was that the email was addressed to "Tina" and my name is "Beth."

I have the boarding passes on my phone in the Navigator app so I don't print them anyways, but I thought it was weird that they didn't have my first name right.
