Good morning friends!  This morning it's 65F here, and will rise to 80 degrees with a mix of sun and clouds.  Not bad at all.

Thanks Rich @richwmn for your Fleet Report and Daily for today.  Today I will honor Gold Star Mothers and their families who make the ultimate sacrifice.  Also VFW Day reminds us to honor all war heroes.  Michaelmas celebrates Archangel Michael.  And finally National Coffee Day.  I don't drink coffee but recognize how important it is to many people.  I always love a Mark Twain quote!  I'd rather not have a pumpkin baked Oatmeal Cup, thank you very much.  No idea what a Green Tea "cocktail" is but the wine sounds like a rosé so I'll try that one.  Good for London in 1829 starting their police force.  It must have been a fun time at Game One of the 1954 World Series watching Willy Mays make that catch!  We certainly enjoy our reports each day from Debbie @dfish, Dixie @summer slope and Ann @cat shepard.  What we do without you ladies?

Prayers for Roy, Chuck and Annie, Tana and Terry, Vanessa, Ann and Pat, Nancy’s DB Nick, Melisa and her DH, Joy’s DS Bonnie, Jacqui, Jane and her DS, Elizabeth, Dixie, Debbie and Carol and Sam and anyone I may have forgotten. 🙏 Let me not forget my DB, the people of Israel and Ukraine, the hostages we hope to see again someday and our military members on ships and bases overseas. 🙏 I send my congratulations to all celebrating a special event, cruising or preparing to cruise.  A big thanks to Vanessa @JazzyV for our Care and Celebration lists (who is on duty even while on vacation).  Beyond the call of duty! ♥️

The port of the day is actually the Solar Eclipse Experience.  This is a first time showing for that destination.  I can’t say as I’ve ever had a cruise called that.  No links and I will offer no photos today.  Please post yours if you've ever been on a Solar Eclipse Experience cruise.😎

Let's all plan on having a very good Sunday.  Please stay safe and keep well! 🤗

Good morning and thank you Sandi for today's daily reports.

Good days and quote today.

I will pass on today's food.

We had a lovely church service this morning.

It is currently 50°F and partly sunny.

Prayers for all on the care list.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Thank you for today’s FR&D, Sandi & Rich! Yesterday was a perfect day to collect the hundreds of small branches that Helene’s winds brought down. My only casualty was an unopened Bird of Paradise blossom. And the afternoon visit to the local wine bar was fun.  They offered $20 wine flights of four expensive wines - your choice of 8 different wines. Then back to my place for supper & more wine.

Vanessa, thank you for keeping up with our happenings. Safe travels to Boston with BFF. Praying the wrap behaves and continues to help.

Gym, Bindi walks, cleaning up last night, Aldi and maybe some pool time.

Prayers for all who need our support - whether they be on the Cares list or not.

Cheers to all who are celebrating!

May we each find a reason to smile!

This somewhat elusive Finger Lakes wine is priced to try, though it is “semi sweet”. Perhaps Paul can open a side business of shipping to anyone interested. I found one online distributor offering it for $9.99.

Good morning.  Thanks for the Report.

Mild and partly cloudy here this morning, very nice weather for this time of year.

Good days to celebrate.

I like the quote.

I'll pass on the meal suggestion, not sure about the drink but I'll try the wine.

Prayers for so many.

Have a peaceful day.

Green Tea cocktail:

The original Green Tea Shot, also called the "Jameson Green Tea" was created by Jameson Irish Whiskey. Therefore, it is best to use their Irish whiskey to get the cocktail flavor that was intended when the Green Tea Shot was created. However, you may use other Irish whiskey, American whiskey, or even bourbon if you prefer.
Despite its name, Green Tea Drink is not green tea infused but rather named after its unique, green color. Don't be surprised to learn that this delicious, alcoholic drink doesn't actually contain any green tea. In fact, this cocktail has a perfectly harmonious blend of sour and sweet flavors typically enjoyed on warm summer days.
The Green Tea Cocktail is a fun, tasty, and super easy-to-make drink and you should definitely give it a try!
Ingredients:
1.5 oz. Irish Whiskey
1.5 oz. Peach Schnapps
1.5 oz. Sweet and Sour Mix
3 1/2 oz. Lemon Lime Soda
Lemon or lime wedge for garnish
Directions:
Add the whiskey, peach schnapps and sweet-and-sour mix into a shaker with ice and shake to chill.
Transfer into a serving glass with the ice.
Top with lemon-lime soda.
Garnish with lemon or lime wedge.

Good morning, everyone!

It is going to be a nice day today here in mid-Michigan with mostly sunny skies and temps in the mid 70s.  We had a really nice time at the neighborhood cookout last night.  Great conversation with neighbors we don't usually see as well as good food made the evening.

Today is a lazy day.  We're always tired after a trip north for River's soccer games, so we'll take it easy and maybe work on some of the leaves.  They are all coming down early this fall and the amount of acorns is ridiculous.  Sue had to change where she parks her car because it was getting dented up by the acorns.  Of course, she could clean up the garage and park it in there, but that would make too much sense.

Baked oatmeal pumpkin cups sound like a lovely Sunday brunch treat.  And they look really easy to make.  This recipe uses maple syrup as the sweetening agent.  You have a great choice of add ins such as chocolate chips, apple pieces, walnuts, or dried cranberries.  Or any combination!  Pumpkin Baked Oatmeal Cups

This next one offers a chocolate chip version as well as a cheesecake version.  Baked Pumpkin Oatmeal Cups

This last one uses different sweeteners and non fat Greed yogurt for moisture.  Oatmeal Pumpkin Baked Cups

Good morning.  Thanks for the Daily Sandi and Rich.  I will definitely celebrate Gold Star parents, their dear children were never S&L.  I will also celebrate our VFW lodges which provide camaraderie for our former troops.  Another good one by Twain, kind of like all of the ads we have been living through lately.   I'll pass on the oatmeal, would try Green Tea but would pass on the wine.  We had a nice partial solar eclipse view in the spring on the beach but not a BHB.

Thanks for the cares and celebrations reports Vanessa, prayers for continued improvement with your leg.  Prayers for Roy, Jacqui, Tana and Terry, Pat, Sandi's DB, Sandi, Chuck and Annie, Terri and Jim, Bonnie, Melissa and everyone else who are ailing or grieving.  Prayers for all in war zones, especially Ukraine.

I am heading to the grocery store in a few, I brought my extra toothpaste to the cabin and now I am out.  Good game yesterday, Colorado beat the 14.5 point underdog role by blowing out Central Florida.  My $10 will pay off nicely. Nancy

Happy Sunday. Thanks for the Daily and Fleet reports.

Relaxing a bit today. My sister is not feeling well because she got her flu and COVID shots yesterday. We will do church online today. I have done my preliminary packing. This will change this coming weekend, I am sure. I will review the weather reports multiple times and probably repack. I never thought that it would be this much harder to pack for a 10+ day trip than a 7-day trip. My sister reminded me that if we forget anything we will still be in civilization and should be able to buy it. Plus, there is laundry and if need be, I can wash something in the sink, 8 days until I fly to Quebec, 10 days until cruise day. I will have a live over on the NCL boards if anyone wants to follow along on our adventures.

Thinking of all on the care list.

Celebrating with all who are celebrating.

Happy Sunday Funny Animal Images

Thanks for our Sunday Daily Sandi & Rich and thanks Vanessa and our F & B team

a great collection of days.  Coffee is a must every day.  LOL on the Mark Twain quote

Score so far is foot -04, Gabapentin - 0 (translation  painful nights).  Poor Ivan runs to the other end of the apartment when it hurst too much.

WEll, I have my flights cancelled, hotel cancelled, all tours nearly covered and confirmed - just one left to go and then it’s the signage for the sail away, M & G  name tags sign, complete cabin listing and spread sheet and then with luck, get everything emailed off a ready to ship.  Not sure if I can get it all done today - but that is my goal.

It’s all depressing but it has to be done and I’m going as fast as my poor sight and hands will let me in between the pain.and Ivan care.

Prayers for those on the Care list and those who need them.  Cheers to those celebrating and lucky enough to cruie.

Good morning from a cool and clear central Texas. It is 60F with a 2mph breeze from the west.  The humidity is 86% with a dew point of 55F.  It looks like the clouds will move in this morning for a few hours, but they are not predicted to bring rain with them.  The high this afternoon will be 88F.  This morning, I'm heading to W-M to pick up my prescriptions and a few things there.  Late morning or early afternoon, I plan to start work on trimming the bushes and scrubs.  I may need to finish the work tomorrow, depending on how quickly the trimming progresses.

I will honor Gold Star Mothers, but wish there were none.  The VFW is a great place for veterans of foreign wars, and there is a very active chapter in Quartzsite.  Michaelmas is important to many people.  As a non coffee drinker, I'll let others have mine.

Another very true quote from Mark Twain.

It's a hard no on the meal, but the drink might be good.  I'll save the recipe to try on a BHB.  We do have the first two ingredients in the house.  DH might like the wine.

We did not take the Solar Eclipse cruise since DH could not use his telescopes on the cruise.

Hat's off to the Bobbies, the London Metropolitan Police on their 195th anniversary.

Willie Mays was a great baseball player, and that catch in 1954 was amazing.

@JazzyV  Vanessa, I hope all goes well on your travels today.

@aliaschief  Welcome home, Bruce.

@kazu  Jacqui, I'm sorry the Gabapentin is not helping you sleep.  That is the one thing it did for DH.

Even though we did not take the Solar Eclipse cruise, we enjoyed it from our front porch.  DH got some great imagines with his telescopes which I will share with you.  Some of the images seem to be reverse of others, it is due to how different telescopes captured the images.

These pictures begin with the eclipse just ending totality.  At totality, all you would see is a black picture.  The pictures progress through the reemergence to full sun.

Good morning from Yellowstone!

We had another great day yesterday, we stayed around the Old Faithful area and walked the Upper Geyser Basin.

Today is our last full day here. We’ll have half a day tomorrow and then fly home tomorrow afternoon.

As usual I’m having problems uploading photos on CC but here are a few. We saw much more.

Giant Geyser. Last erupted 10 months ago.

Old Faithful seen from our walk.
