silverM06 Posted October 1 #1 Share Posted October 1 Probably a highly YMMV question especially since we'll be on E2 this winter, but how good are the spa treatments like the massages and skin treatments? Tracking they are quite expensive but we do also have a 300Euro OBC we need to spend and we're not the type to spend it on fancier alcohol. Planning to reserve the Spa on an At Sea day, thanks
TomWinTejas Posted October 1 #2 Share Posted October 1 From what I understand you have to pay in advance to reserve a spa treatment prior to boarding the ship... so you wouldn't be able to use the OBC. But I also heard that you can cash out any unused OBC at the end of the cruise. We'll have OBC as well and just decided to prepay for excursions and cash out the OBC.

Interesting, good to know...I suppose we could wait to book in advance and assume not many others will book the "couples" treatment in advance. If they get booked up, oh well...we'll just use the spa during the designated public hours then. Very curious on how the OBC cash out works
CruiseCrew123 Posted October 1 #4 Share Posted October 1 (edited) They were no better than at home but 3 times the price . If your obc is part of an explorer promo then it is not refundable . We had lots to use so booked on board a few days before we wanted them. The spa area was never busy Edited October 1 by CruiseCrew123 2
silverM06 Posted October 2 Author #5 Share Posted October 2 (edited) Gotcha, will sit on the idea for a minute...the pre-departure spa reservations are apparently NOT pre-pay and it states that you pay once onboard so I guess it IS something I could reserve and use my OBC for. Just starting to wonder if we'll get bored on the two "At Sea" days as the ship is relatively small amenities wise. Is the consensus that the spa amenities themselves are fairly lackluster? I read one post saying they were but wanted to get more opinions. They look quite nice in pictures 😄 Edited October 2 by silverM06
CruiseCrew123 Posted October 2 #6 Share Posted October 2 It’s just a steam room , sauna , salt room , jacuzzi pool and heated beds - no different to most hotels or somewhere like a David Lloyd. I was in MSC Virtuosa in May and that was far better so I personally was disappointed
KJB416 Posted October 2 #7 Share Posted October 2 The massage I had was good, but not amazing and my father in law had several due to a hip issue he got the first day and was happy with them. What I did not like, was at the end in my robe, the forced walk to the shop at the entrance to advise me on what products I should buy and also having then, back in the room, having to wait while they hand wrote down several treatments and products I should consider. It really turned me off and if I get another I will let them know ahead of time I do not want or need this. I hate the upsell. Totally tacky IMO.
Rare Sthrngary Posted October 2 #8 Share Posted October 2 So I am looking for clarification. If we have OBC and we want to use the, book the spa treatments when on-board, not pre-cruise. If you book pre-cruise, you have to pay with your final payment and or if applicable, when you book it. Your downside is on sea days, you might miss out. Do I have that right? Cruise well and enjoy every moment.
