Things I was unaware of on the Pride

This was our first time on Carnival and we had a wonderful cruise. I have used these boards for years and thought I was well prepared before each trip. However - there were several things I did not know before this past week:

Did you know that in each cabin there are toothbrushes, toothpaste(Crest), flossers (Reach Access), razors (four packs of Bics), Rolaids, Tylenol, Aleve, small bottles of Suave Naturals body lotion, and Physique shampoo, conditioner and boosting gel, all at no cost?

Also, cappuccino is available everynight in the dining room at no charge, and you can always request steak and caesar salad in the dining room.

At the auctions there is free artwork valued over $100 just for being there. If you apply for the Park West Credit card, you get artwork worth over $500 and you get a second piece just for using the card. Also, watch for special auctions of jewelry and spa features. My daughter and I both got complete facials, eye treatments and neck and shoulder massages for $60. Usually this is $180. The gentleman who bid on a diamond bracelet got a real deal, but I won't share that secret here.

If you don't mind an inside cabin check out 7101 and 7102 on the Verandah Deck. Our room was much larger than any others we saw including outsides and balcony cabins. We had about 235 sq feet because it was a handicapped cabin. (we are not handicapped - the room was just available) Our bathroom was HUGE! It has to be big enough for a wheelchair. The shower was 4x4 feet!!! Also, there are no connecting walls with any other cabins. NO NOISE AT ALL!!!

Find a friendly bartender. Drinks will be at no charge for the entire cruise whenever you go to that bar.

Make friends with your room steward. The Pride Book was given to us on the last evening, as were beach towels.

If I remember any more things, I will be sure to share them.

Have a great cruise! We will certainly book with Carnival again.

Hey neighbor! icon_smile.gif

So glad to hear that you had a wonderful cruise. I miss the Pride so much.

Did you know that you can ask your room steward for extras of the freebies? I loved the little tubes of oil of Olay cream and the steward gaves us a whole bunch of them. We didn't get a free towel but I did ask him for a Pride book and he got one for me right away.

I went to one art auction, but fell asleep. icon_biggrin.gif It was after the sleepless night with all the noise and vibration in our cabin.

Did you get the free postcards with the picture of the ship and the playing cards? I got the cards to give to each of my nephews as a souvenir. I needed more than two decks so we just went back when there was another pursor.

The other free things are in the infirmary- dramamine, rolaids, bandaids, etc.

Thanks for the helpful hints. My daughter will be thrilled that she can have steak and caesar salad every night.

I'm so glad you had a great time. I still haven't heard one person regret sailing on the Pride.

Only 3 more weeks...

Never got the free drinks except from the casino host. That would be a nice treat.

Did they do the spa auctions at the art auction? I may have to go from now on.

Oh, I forgot about the Oil of Olay and the playing cards! Also, the nice poster of the Pride handed out the last night in the dining room. As for the free drinks, I have always had this happen. I'm a single large female, so it's obviously not because of my sex appeal. Maybe because I love people?? Also, this time I was traveling with my single, 22, daughter.

sorry - I keep rememebering more things! Many many people checking in with us were carrying cases of water, soda, and BEER!! No one had to turn in anything. I took beer and also bought beer in port and nothing was said.

Yes, the spa auction was at an art auction. So was the jewelry auction.
