Cruised with Journey, Styx and REO Speedwagon on a Rock 'n Roll cruise. REO was seen all over the ship the whole week. They went on excursions (we were with one of them on the Passion Island excursion in Cozumel) with thier wives and kids, played in the casino, and were just part of the cruise. Styx got on and off in Cozumel and Journey got on in Jamaica and left in Miami. We spent a little time with Journey the last morning just before disembarktion.

Here is a whole great big thread that you could have read without starting a new one...

But, it's just fine that you started a new thread with your question, bubbles! There are those who will be more than happy to tell you about how to execute a "search", etc. And, there are even more of us who welcome new threads and new CC members. After all, we'd be hard-pressed to find any topic that hasn't been covered in one way or another...nor one question that hasn't been askes somewhere along the line. I welcome new threads because then you don't have to sift through old, out-dated info. Plus, you usually get more input on a new thread.

Welcome to Cruise Critic, bubbles! Have you seen any celebrities on your cruise(s)? Who, what, when, where? :) What is your cruise history? (Do you know how to post it in your "signature"?)

Again, welcome to the boards. Always good to have new members!!

Wow , very sorry to have put you through reading something you evidently have already read and knew the answer to. However , when I tried to do the search I could not come up with anything. Maybe when i did the search I must have done something wrong just like I did by starting this new thread. Very sorry for the inconvenience, guess us new cc members have a thing or 2 to learn just yet. My very first cruise is in June, so I guess I have no cruise history. I guess that is why I only have a countdown ticker in my signature and not a history with it. No worries, though, I am sure once I accomplish a cruise history, I will be able to figure out how to put it there with a countdown ticker. I'm sure I will learn how to post it being as how I learned to post the ticker.:)

I was posting in support of you! If I remember correctly, I started by telling you it was fine that you started a new thread...and I quoted the post that I was contradicting!!!! And, I believe that I mention there are those of "US" who welcome new threads. I am one of US in my posts...or else I would have said "them".

Sorry - I didn't see your countdown! My mistake. And, I welcomed you to the boards since you were new. It was because you were new that I thought you might not have known to put cruise history in your signature. I was new to the boards not that long ago and it took a while for me to know the ins and out of the board. I certainly wasn't trying to offend you...I was trying to be kind. Guess that failed miserably.

Again, I apologize for not seeing your countdown. And, I am sorry that you somehow did not see that I was supporting you. If you look at my posts on this board, I am one of the folks who try to make this a nicer place - not sarcastic, mean-spirited, etc. I've been slammed for being "Miss Manners" and "Mom" when I've tried to ask people to be nicer or defend folks who were being harshly treated in one manner or another.

...I forgot to mention that I have seen Richard Simmons on 2 cruises - one on NCL several years ago. And then once on Carnival after that.

I was also on a cruise with Robert Urich. Played against him in the backgammon tournament. He was certainly a looker...and an all-around nice guy.

The last time I was on the Glory, there was a guy who thought he was Tim McGraw! Dressed like him, looked a lot like him...poor guy couldn't sing a lick when it came to karaoke though! ;)

Living fairly close to Jackson Hole and Sun Valley we spot "famous" people quite often, but they sure don't look like their on screen images!

It's funny because my dd has been mistaken for Britny Spears so much that she actually cut her hair and dyed it dark brown for awhile! It was flattering to her when she was in high school but then got old. I feel sorry for stars because they are always on display.

Stone Cold Steve Austin was on the Inspiration, our first cruise. I'm not a wrestling fan but the kids did name our cat after him. They would have been thrilled to see him, but we left them home.

mrdood do you have a life or is your life looking at the threads and searching and telling people to search before asking questions?

Just curious.

I agree. Wouldn't it be easier to just answer the question rather than chastising others for not searching for a thread that died exactly a year ago. I mean really! If you are annoyed by a duplicate thread a year apart from the original just pass over it. If you have nothing to contribute to the thread then just pass over it. I think it is funny that Mr. Dood spends so much time telling people to search for other threads. To me, the duplicate threads are less annoying and less boring that yet another "search before you ask" post. Those posts seem more like an elaborate way to adding to your personal post tally than actually trying to be helpful.

And by the way, I personally have never seen a celebrity on a cruise.

but then after I thought about it I figured that most celebrities probably either just flew on their private planes where ever they wanted to go or sailed on a private yacht. I would be surprised to see someone famous on a regular cruise ship.

Someone posted within the past few weeks that they had Hulk Hogan and his family on their cruise. It may have been over on the Princess board - can't remember but I only hang out here and at Princess so it had to be one of the two.

btw - love your tag line. My fave song. Took on a whole new meaning when at age 40 I had a stroke (induced by a combo of prescription meds). Kinda my creed now!

"Live Like You Were Dying" is what I live by. I lost my Father, Mother, and Brother all to cancer within a short period of time and this song became our motto throughout their illness.

who is this dood, dudey, doody anyway and why does he ride roughshod all over the people on this board? its here for questions and information and is NOT someones personal fiefdom! ask away newbies!:D

Well, that was just as nice wasn't it?

Dood might not always be so eloquent when he mentions it... but come on, everyone SHOULD know about it, it is in the guidelines that each of us agreed to when we signed up for this board. If you have trouble searching, there is a help board. It doesn't hurt, or take long to do a quick search... I think people might be confused as to how to best search, and sometimes the search feature doesn't work... Nothing technically wrong with someone pointing out something that is specifically spelled out in the guidelines... whether we mind answering the questions or not, he should not be scolded because of it.

Bubbles, this was not directed at you... everyone was new once, and may not be familiar with the workings of the board, so don't take it personally!!

lets face it...every question that could possibly be asked has been answered unless the topic is absolutely hot off the presses. So why not just call it CruiseCritic Search Engine and allow no new posts? Why cant those that the topic annoys just read it (better yet, DON'T read it) and move on without verbally slapping someone and making them feel stupid?

Not verbally slapping at all. Since when is pointing out the guidelines a verbal slap? And why would that make someone feel stupid? Obviously, the wonderful people that run this board for us, put them there for a reason... maybe we should at least put forth a little effort to abide by them... that's all, it's not so tough. They don't ask for much... nothing wrong with new posts, but there is also nothing wrong with doing a 2 second search to see if there is anything recent on the topic. Do you realize how many times we have had 6-7 threads on the first page, on the same topic??? It is much more helpful, if recent topics are contained in one thread... The reason the guideline is there, is to be most helpful to the posters as well... People are so quick to point out the rules about everything else, unless it's something that they feel passionate about right?? ;)
