LABecca Posted August 27, 2007 #101 Share Posted August 27, 2007 Thanks for the pics! Bummer about priority debarkation, I thought suites got priority debarkation along with Platinum guests. Sounds like I'll just have to suck it up and wait like everyone else.
crusinmama06 Posted August 27, 2007 #102 Share Posted August 27, 2007 Em and Becca - you're welcome :) And Becca - I know. I don't know why I expected to at least be moved to one of the earlier colors called. But nope, we were next to last. Riviera was first, then a few cabins on veranda, then back to Riviera. cruzinstew Posted August 27, 2007 #104 Share Posted August 27, 2007 we are assigned U70 for sept 8! thanks so much for the pics! cant wait!!!!!!! I promised everyone a review and pictures of our Cat 12 on Sensation, so here it is. We booked U70 (and our friends had U74) Penthouse Suite on Sensation. Let's start with the VIP Embarkation - the EASIEST VIP embarkation we have EVER been through. I mean they REALLY treat you like VIP's. On other cruiselines we still had to wait in long lines...not this time. We arrived at noon. The regular line was wrapped across the front of the building. The VIP line, NO ONE. We walked right into the cruise terminal. Was escorted to the elevator and right up to the VIP area. A woman came over immediatly and said she would get us right onto the ship. She took our passports, fun pass, credit card and away she went. Two minutes later she had our keys and Sail cards in her hands. She escorted us over to the gangway where they took our pictures. She said "Your room WILL be ready". I said "But it's not 1:30 yet." She said "Don't worry, it's ready". And away we went right onto the ship. From arrival at the terminal to getting into our cabin....literally 15 minutes. The suite - very spacious. The couch folded out into a very comfy bed, big enough for two kids. The bathroom is gray marble with a jaccuzi tub. The shower had a removable nozzle (great for washing the kid's hair). There were free samples in the bathroom (razors, oil of olay, toothpaste). In the shower were shampoo and body wash dispensers. The TV is a flat screen. The closet had fluffy robes in it and more than enough space to store everything. It also held the safe. Hidden behind a door underneath the counter (under the mirror) is a fridge with soda in it (the soda is $1.75 per can...coke, sprite and diet coke was in there. A bottle of water was on the counter) There is a PILLOW MENU - which allows you to choose the pillows you want for you room. Choices range from goose down to synthtic, soft to firm. There are Carnival beach towels that the cabin attendant will take the dirty ones every night and replace with clean ones by morning. Our cabin had the BEST balcony because we had NO neighbors on one side because it was the start of the OV cabins. The dividers are NOT removable. You can see your next door neighbor if you look between the gab between the wall and the divider. (Our neighbor happened to be our friends so we were able to talk between the balconies) There are lights on the balcony, the switch is by the door. The lock on the balcony was a little tricky, it never seem to lock right. But the door was so heavy that my kids couldn't open it. The cabin attendant (Chanita, sorry if I am butchering your name) was one of the BEST ever! She was so wonderful with the kids. The cabin was spotless. One night she changed the puppy towel animal into a monkey and my kids (being overtired) actually cried because they missed the puppy. So the next morning I snuck into the hall and asked Chanita to bring back the puppy that night. So she walked into my cabin and announced to my girls that "puppy had JUST called her and he is on his way back to the ship and will arrive by this evening". That night when we walked into the cabin, there was a whole ZOO of towel animals....lol. The location of the suites being on the Upper deck and not higher up meant that we had to take the stairs ALOT. But that meant we got to work off our food....lol. At Disembarkation, they called the Upper deck NEXT TO LAST. That was a little iritating. I know that platinum guests are the only ones to get priority DEbarkation, but waiting that long to be called got to be tiring, trying to entertain the kids. But we were called at 9:30am and arrived at MCO at 11am (long line through customs when we got off the ship) All in all, we LOVED the Cat 12. And here are some of our pictures. I will put them in 2 separate posts since there is a 5 pic limit per post.

tnrnchick74 Posted September 10, 2007 #107 Share Posted September 10, 2007 Just got back from the Sensation 3 day yesterday got the upgrade to the Cat 12 (U-93). I have a review going & my fiancee will be posting pics. We had a GREAT time & I'm now officially a SUITE SNOB!!! About debarkation - we were given tags with a # (7 I believe) and we were making our way to the Lido deck to wait, like good passengers and we heard the person "directing traffic" announce that VIPs had already left. We asked "if we had VIP check-in because we stayed in a suite, does that mean we get to leave with VIPS"...we were told yes and to proceed this way! Took us 30 minutes to vacate our room, get off the ship, a porter met us, found our bags, and escorted us through customs & to our car. 30 minutes!!! It was awesome! JudyKa Posted September 10, 2007 #108 Share Posted September 10, 2007 how is the weather in december, did u still enjoy and is there a hot tub, sauna on deck in working condition? Leaving New Orleans, when we sailed it was just a tad cool; but not terribly as long as we found a spot in the sun on board watching the sail-away.....you want to make sure you have a light jacket handy. You never can tell down this way what kind of weather is going to happen in the winter....can be cool or warm.....so, check your weather man before coming down. Although I didn't use the hot tub, I know there is one....saw it...can't remember what deck. I'm not sure about a sauna.....maybe someone in here that has used the Spa can let you know......how about it? Anyone in here use a sauna on board the Fantasy? The Carribean was, of course, toasty warm....lovely.
JudyKa Posted September 10, 2007 #109 Share Posted September 10, 2007 I think they were talking about Fantasy class ships only and they are just a small sheet of glass (plexiglass?), you can see right through it, it's not much of a room divider. We couldn't see through our Cat. 12 balcony dividers on the Fantasy.....totally non-see-through.
islandlittleleague Posted September 16, 2007 #110 Share Posted September 16, 2007 So if you stay in a penthouse suite like on the Fantasy do you get to leave early like vip check in? Also I stayed in u79 on the Ecstacy and was wondering which side is better and which side would u see Cozumel when docked. I would like another penthouse suite so give me ideas cause i see alot of U97, and U98
mr jailerman Posted September 22, 2007 #111 Share Posted September 22, 2007 U114 and U115 just opened up for my cruise..I currently have U111. Anyone have any experience with any of these Suites? 114 & 115 are directly on the end of the Suites row, midship next to oceanviews so one less Balcony next door, but do look to be right in front of the elevators so excessive noise might be a problem..My first thought is I am done moving Suites and I am staying put with U111(Befour CJW tells me to stop overthinking again:) )But I am just curious to see if anyone has good or bad to say about these cabin #'s. Thanks for your time. Have a great night.:D

old sole Posted November 30, 2007 #117 Share Posted November 30, 2007 Yes.....you have priority check-in/boarding on cat. 12.....just had this suite on the Fantasy in December out of N.O. We recently split the 5 people we had booked in a cat 12 between that cabin and a second (non-suite) cabin. Will we all be able to board together at the Priority check-in? We are traveling with our 16 and 11 yr old, and booked the cat 12 for the space, plus we got a pretty decent price for that week. Guess that was because it was just a couple of weeks before school starts for the fall, and everyone will be getting ready to go back. My husband and I just got back from a cruise on the Crown Princess in Nov., and while the room had plenty of space for just the two of us, we knew it would never work for us and two kids (without killing each other, lol) Have a great time! I was under the opinion it was larger, and had an outside dining type table, two chairs, and a lounger. We were just on the Crown Princess in Nov., and although the balconies were half the size of what the Ecstasy Cat 12 advertises, we had two chairs and a dining type table where we could have room service breakfast each morning. Will Carnival deliver a full room service breakfast?
