We are cruising on Caribbean Princess Aug 7th Driving from Clearwater FL. I read a recent post where someone had stayed in FLL, got transport to the pier and parked free for the week - I'm in on that deal!
Can anyone give me details?

Amerisuites on 17th St lets you leave the car in their lot for duration of your cruise providing you stay there the night before. Do it all the time. This is closest hotel to port that offers this service. Yes, parking is free. Shuttle can be a hassle. Take a taxi. Less than $10.

We stayed at the above AmeriSuites. Nothing to write home about, but was ok for one night. No restaurant on premises or pool but good restaurants nearby.
They have shuttle to dock and you can sign up when you check in. We took the 10:30 shuttle with 2 other couples. Aboard the Grand before Noon.
They do have continental breakfast and their coffee wasn't anything special but it will be your last decent cup......

Embassy Suites does not offer free parking; it's $6.00/day.

We, as locals, use Amerisuites all the time if we have an early flight from Ft. Lauderdale airport. Their buffet breakfast is fine; fresh fruit, cereal, waffles, muffins, bagels, etc. More than I need. We've left our car there (free) for almost two weeks.

we also stayed at Springhill Suites the night before our cruise on June 12. We left our car there for the week and took the free shuttle after breakfast (which was included). We had a very nice room with seperate living room and kitchenette and all inclusive for $89. We thought that was a bargain. We did get a taxi back after the cruise because the shuttle was extra plus we did not want to wait. Have fun
