about trip insurance

What are the best amounts to get coverage for? ( i.e-Accidental Death-10k, medical-50k, emergency medical evacuation-50k) we are looking at different rates, but unsure on how much the coverage should be for such as the things I have in parentheses. So, would medical evacuation, for example, is 50k enough, or do I need to look for a plan that covers a higher amount?

First of all check with your medical insurance and see if your medical coverage is valid in other countries, ours is so we don't have to worry about getting a high medical amount, also check with your CC companies to see if you have any type of travelers insurance incuded in your card.

We found that our AmEx card covers accidental death & loss of limb.

Finding out all the info. first can help you deside what kind of coverage you really need.

I generally purchase from insuremytrip.com and get the Travelex Travel Lite policy. Yes, 50K would be enough to cover for medical evacuation. I insure the cost of my trip that I would lose if I had to cancel (i.e., if the cruise costs $1,000 and air is $200, I insure for $1,200, give or take a few dollars.

We purchased the travlex, travelite package from insure my trip today. I feel so much better. The cost was excellent considering it was for 3 people, and for what it covers........well worth it:) Now we can enjoy our very first cruise without a care in the world.........the way it should be:D
