taylor712 Posted May 25, 2006 Author #26 Share Posted May 25, 2006 Wow, I cannot believe this thread continued! It was so difficult for me to find info on the Celebration prior to my trip, I'm glad more people are talking about it! She really is a great ship. To answer a few questions: PUP - Neither of us were seasick last week, although we felt like we were still at sea after returning home. It takes at least a day to recover. Bonine or ginger root are certainly worth a tryy. Yogimax - Bob is a smoker; my husband smokes irregularly (he's influenced by others and how many screwdrivers he's consumed -- haha). I cannot stand the smoke; I don't feel ventilation on this ship was any better or worse than others. Most smokers make an attempt to be courteous. I was in the casino too often and rarely was bothered by the smoking. Semala - We took 75 through Atlanta to I-10 to Jax on Sunday (Mother's Day). The ride was pretty good, although we had some rain at points. I actually liked coming back through 95 and I-16 because it's nice to be back in GA faster. I thought getting to I-10 once we hit FL would be quick, but it's a good 45 minutes or so (if I remember correctly). And while I-10 is a nice road, I definitely liked the other way (just watch for state troopers & local police!). I'm glad we drove the day before - had we left Monday a.m., we would have been beat up that first day. As someone previously mentioned, Formal Night/Captain's Night is night 2. Wine, screwdrivers, whiskey sours, martinis and Champagne were plentiful; we skipped the snacks and went straight for the cocktails. Great start before dinner. I believe the past guest party was the 4th night, although I skipped it this time. Neither my husband or our friend were invited or felt like going. Regarding the gym, unfortunately, I'm not sure there is room for expanding the facility. Unless they took away deck space, which I'd hope they wouldn't do.
