Back end of the Jewel

I am considering booking a cabin at the very back of the Jewel - can anyone tell me whether it is noisy/any vibration due to the engines?

Also, the buffet restaurant is one deck above - does the noise carry into the aft cabins?

There is very little vibration from Azipod propulsion systems.

 

With the buffet dining area right above you there will be some chair dragging noise.

We were in the Romance Suite 10666 all the aft on the 4/30 Jewel Transatlantic. The cabin was great...yes, they can see you from overhead, but nothing came raining down on us. There was no additional motion from the engines and it was a very quiet cabin. We loved it! Depending on the winds, sometimes we had a little additional ash on our balcony from the stack, but housekeeping promptly sent someone to clean our balcony when we asked.

 

You can't go wrong with an aft cabin! What views!

We were in cabin 11152, 11154 and 11156, all Aft mini-suites and we loved them. There was no real noise from either the restaurant above or the engines below. There WERE plenty of relaxing sounds from the ship's wake that put us to sleep each night. The view is terrific, there is very little wind, and it's quiet back there because there is not much foot traffic in the hallways. We loved it so much, we've booked the exact same cabins for our trip on the Pearl next March. :D

Thanks for the photo, Shoreguy. The aft balconies look a lot more covered than those on the Sun. Even on the Sun balconies, you have to be standing at the railing in order for those above to see you (I checked it out from ours last week).

 

Stillfloatin', we've booked one of your mini's for Alaska next May. If you have any photos, I would really appreciate seeing them.

We're booked on the NCL Aug.27 out of Barcelona and I just found out we are assigned to stateroom 9666. I was a bit concerned when I saw the location because it is in the back of the ship. I thought I would feel the motion more. I guess from reading all of the above it will be ok. Any input is appreciated. :)

Stillfloatin: Do to your advice and other research on these boards, I moved my cabin from 11150 to 11152 for my 7/30 cruise. Thank you. I would also love to see some pictures.

I went through all 288 photos and not one dang photo of the cabin. Plenty of the towel animals, the casino, the ports, blah blah blah, but no stateroom shots. Sorry. But don't worry, you'll love it. I enjoyed this area so much, we've booked 3 of the aft mini-suites (not 11150) on the Pearl for our B2B cruises. :D
