sashas_mom Posted May 27, 2006 #1 Share Posted May 27, 2006 We like to bring them gifts and things to read in their own language. We will be on the Coral next week. Thanks. sasha'smom
Rare Coral Posted May 27, 2006 #2 Share Posted May 27, 2006 Princess is pretty diverse in this - I probably would look to plan B for gifts.

LARGIN Posted May 27, 2006 #4 Share Posted May 27, 2006 I think they would prefer to read english especially what is on the front and back of a twenty dollar bill... :D
Sunviking Posted May 27, 2006 #5 Share Posted May 27, 2006 Well said Largin. That is definitely the most desirable reading for a crew member of any nationality. We also just returned from the Coral Princess and we had the best cabin steward we have ever had. The service in the dining venues and in our favorite lounge Crooners was also great. There did seem to be many staff from the Phillipines and Romania.
Pam in CA Posted May 27, 2006 #6 Share Posted May 27, 2006 The cruise staff changes constantly. Many cabin stewards are from the Philippines, many restaurant staff are from Romania. However, you'll find many from other countries as well.
sashas_mom Posted May 28, 2006 Author #7 Share Posted May 28, 2006 Of course we give tips as well. We appreciate all their hard work and the attention they give us, so not to worry, they see $20.00's from us too.
edYYZ Posted May 29, 2006 #8 Share Posted May 29, 2006 In addition to what was already said, we also noticed waitstaff from Thailand. I think overall it's quite a mix! It's reassuring to know that many passengers do express their appreciation of the staff.
