crazy4bears Posted June 9, 2006 #1 Share Posted June 9, 2006 I'm new to NCL . Do the ships have a self service laundry room ? We will be sailing on the Pearl.
johnql Posted June 9, 2006 #2 Share Posted June 9, 2006 So far, only the Jewel and Dawn have self-service laundries. Not sure whether the Pearl will or not.
nyzil Posted June 9, 2006 #3 Share Posted June 9, 2006 The Dawn has 3 self serve laundry rooms - they are on the 9, 10, & 11 decks with 3 washers, 3 dryers, 2 irons & iron boards. They sell small boxes of tide. But I just brought some detergent in a ziplock bag and it worked out great.
ladymanor1 Posted June 9, 2006 #4 Share Posted June 9, 2006 for some reason I was under the impression that the Spirt also had self serve laundry room (s). Am I wrong? If so I will have some serious rethinking about packing LOL
Don Haynes Posted June 9, 2006 #5 Share Posted June 9, 2006 Only the Dawn, Jewel, and Pride of Hawaii have self-serve laundry rooms. I suspect any new ship NCL builds will have them, like the Pearl and Gem. Its just that the older ships Star, Sun, Pride of Aloha, Spirit, Dream, Wind, Majesty, and Crown plus the newer Pride of America don't.
cruzin girl Posted June 9, 2006 #6 Share Posted June 9, 2006 Do you know where the laundry is located at on Pride of Hawaii. Looking at the deck plans I can't seem to find it. Thanks.

dymondgrl Posted June 9, 2006 #8 Share Posted June 9, 2006 I always take advantage of the cleaning special mid to late week. They will leave a bag in your room for you to fill and have your clothes washed and sent back the next day for $20.00. You can't believe how much I can fit in one bag. I usually go home without hardly any laundry to do.:)

sweetpea-2 Posted June 9, 2006 #10 Share Posted June 9, 2006 I know they had Guest Laundrettes on the Dawn .... I would imagine the do on the Pearl since it's new.......all we did was ask our room steward where it was and he took us and showed us so not to get confused...... bobnsandi Posted June 9, 2006 #11 Share Posted June 9, 2006 Do you know where the laundry is located at on Pride of Hawaii. Looking at the deck plans I can't seem to find it. Thanks.Decks 9, 10, & 11 (not sure about deck 8), starboard passageway, inboard, fwd of the mid stairwell. They are not prominently marked, but if you ask cabin stewart/ess in the area they'll be happy to show you exactly where. To help, on deck 11 it is directly across from cabin 11056 (and in the same general location on the lower decks).
D&J38 Posted June 9, 2006 #12 Share Posted June 9, 2006 We were in Cabin #11058 on the POH, and as Sandi said, the laundry was across from #11056--one door away from us! We did not even notice it till our neighbors found it and told us. The "Guest Launderette" sign is small, high up on the door, and VERY easy to miss! (An NCL rep had told us there probably wasn't one, so we weren't looking for it.) And after all the talk about a $20 laundry offer, there was no such thing on the POH, even on a 12-day cruise. Maybe they'll offer it later once things get more settled. Janice

Yes, the sign is hard to see, being near the top of a plain wood-faced door. http://www219.pair.com/swansonr/pride_of_hawaii/100_4036.jpg http://www219.pair.com/swansonr/pride_of_hawaii/100_4037.jpg

Was wondering if the laudryroom was right outside our cabin on deck 11 in the stairwell? is it forward or midship?

Now, we were on the trans-Pacific 12 day cruise, most folks will be on a 7-day round the islands, so their laundry needs may not be as critical as ours were. cruzin girl Posted June 11, 2006 #16 Share Posted June 11, 2006 Wow that is a small sign. That would be an easy one for me to miss. Thanks for the info.
