lledman Posted June 21, 2006 #1 Share Posted June 21, 2006 2 questions ~ I understand that if you take cash off your cc at the casino it's billed as an entertainment charge so that you avoid the cash advance fee but are you also charged a processing fee by the ship to do this? And second question, I read the RC cc fact sheet and saw in fine print that for game chip use, which is what you would say the money was for, does not earn points. Is this true? sea-jay Posted June 21, 2006 #2 Share Posted June 21, 2006 I used my sea pass to obtain $50 at the casino window one cruise. When I got the bill on my Credit card well after the cruise, all I saw was one amount for all my shipboard charges. I then received the CC points I earned on the total amount. wrp96 Posted June 21, 2006 #4 Share Posted June 21, 2006 There is no processing fee for getting cash from the casino. That's why we all recommend that instead of getting it from the ATM.
richardjl Posted June 21, 2006 #5 Share Posted June 21, 2006 That's really good to hear. I hate carring a lot of cash with me.
sas80 Posted June 21, 2006 #6 Share Posted June 21, 2006 That's really good to hear. I hate carring a lot of cash with me. Last cruise, DH and I only carried $200 with us en route to the ship - knowing that we could get more cash from the casino for the duration of the cruise. It worked out just fine. meripour Posted June 21, 2006 #7 Share Posted June 21, 2006 Explain to me the cc credits. If each have a C&A number does it go to the person who's cc is guaranteeing the room. Is this the same as shipboard credit?
meripour Posted June 21, 2006 #8 Share Posted June 21, 2006 See this from the RCCL site in regards to cash from the casino - Personal checks (2 per guest, per voyage, not to exceed $450 USD) All types of credit cards You can also use your SeaPass Account with credit card backing for $2000 USD per day, per guest and $100 USD per day for cash accounts. Is this the same as shipboard credit? The way I understand it, yes. I know when we filled out our set sail pass online we had to designate how we wanted our charges, so I would assume the "cash advance" from the casino is no different than buying a drink at the bar after reading above. You're correct. It just get billed to your account as an "entertainment" charge; just as they would bill you in the bar for a cocktail. There weren't any surcharges for this on my last cruise in early June.
