Guest suzeycruisey Posted June 24, 2006 #1 Share Posted June 24, 2006 We are looking at booking the Oct. 28th sailing. Since this will be our third cruise this year and an extra, last-minute trip for us, we are probably going to just book an inside to keep the cost down. Will be our first cruise on HAL, and I am confused about the different categories of insides--I see standard, large, and then large/standard. Can anyone tell me the difference between the categories? What is a large/standard? Any help provided is greatly appreciated. We are looking forward to trying HAL after being mostly on RCI and Princess. Thanks!!! Stevesan Posted June 24, 2006 #2 Share Posted June 24, 2006 The following page from HAL's web site provides cabin descriptions by major categories as well as virtual tours: http://www.hollandamerica.com/fleet/stateroomHome.do?ship=zu
RuthC Posted June 25, 2006 #3 Share Posted June 25, 2006 You do not! want a standard inside. Think walk-in closet. Think "cabinette". I haven't seen them, but do know that regular poster Revneal recommends the J-category on Main Deck (not on higher decks, though). He says they are larger on this deck. That's important on the Vista's since all cabin categories on that class of ship are smaller than the comparable category on the S- and R- classes.
